(3)  Put the injector in position on the engine sump.  Refer to Figure 3. Use a new gasket. 
(4)  Install the 4 plain washers, serrated washers and nuts that attach the injector.  Torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lb). 
(5)  Connect the fuel hose to the fuel distributor. 
(6)  Connect the fuel supply hose to the fuel injector. 
(7)  Install the alternate air assembly and the air filter.  Refer to Section 71-60. 
(8)  Connect the mixture control cable: S Put the bolt and spacer in position on the mixture lever. S Put the eye-end on the bolt. S Install the washer and the self locking nut. 
(9)  Connect the throttle control cable: S Put the bolt and washer in position on the throttle lever. S Put the eye-end on the bolt. S Install the second washer and self locking nut. 
(10)  Do a test of the mixture control for freedom of movement and correct adjustment.  Refer to section 76-10.

(11)  Do a test of the throttle control for freedom of movement and adjustment.  Refer to Section 76-10. 
(12)  Connect the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(13)  Do a test for fuel leaks: S Set the fuel selector/shut-off valve ON. S Set the ALT/BAT switch to ON. S Set the electrical fuel pump to ON. S Make sure that there are no leaks from the injector. S Set the electrical fuel pump to OFF. S Se the ALT/BAT switch to OFF. S Set the fuel selector/shut-off valve to OFF. 
(14)  Connect the spark plug cables to the spark plugs.  Torque to 12.4 to 13.6 Nm (110 - 120 in.lb). 
(15)  Install the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-10. 
(16)  Do an engine ground run-up test.  Refer to the Airplane Flight Manual.

% Section 73-01 % Engine Fuel and Control - TAE 125 Diesel Engine % 1. General
% This Section tells you about the fuel system on the TAE 125 Diesel engine. It gives you general data % and the trouble-shooting data on the system. You cannot replace the components of the engine fuel % system. You can replace components in the air intake system and the fuel filter. Refer to the engine % manufacturer for data on the engine fuel system.
% Refer to Section 28-01 for more data on the airplane fuel system. Refer to Section 71-61 for more % data on the air filter and alternate air valve. Refer to Section 76-01 for more data on the control % system for the engine fuel system. Refer to Chapter 81 for more data on the turbo-charger and % intercooler.

% 2. Description and Operation
% Figure 1 shows the schematic diagram for DA 40 with the TAE 125 Diesel engine. The engine fuel % system has two main parts:
%) An air intake system. This system supplies air from the inlet to the air filter to the engine inlet % manifold.
%) An engine fuel system. The engine fuel system takes fuel from the airplane fuel system and injects % it into the cylinders.
% A. Air Intake System
% The air intake system has an air filter located on the right of the engine compartment, just forward % of the firewall. The filter attaches to the bottom of an alternate air valve. The alternate air valve % also has an inlet direct from the engine compartment. A flap in the valve can select either filtered % air or warm, unfiltered air. Refer to Section 71-61 for more data on the air filter and alternate air % valve.
