F. Install the Autothrottle Disconnect (S7, S9) or Reset (S8, S10) Switches (Fig. 401).

Put the heat shrink tubing on the wires.

Solder the wires to the new switch (AMM 20-11-25/201).

Use the heat gun to make the heat shrink tubing become smaller on the wire terminals (AMM 20-11-25/201).

Put the switch and the actuator in the correct position on the thrust lever and install the two screws.

aft end of the airplane).

(5) Adjust the applicable autothrottle disconnect switch (S7) or autothrottle reset switch (S8) as follows:
(a)
Push the autothrottle disconnect lever on the number 1 thrust lever forward 0.10 inch (2.5 mm) to the mid travel position and hold.
(b)
Make sure the switch did not operate.
NOTE:____You can hear a click when the switch operates. You also can do a check of the continuity as follows.
1) Remove the ceiling panels in the main passenger cabin to get access to the connector plugs below the control stand (AMM 25-22-01/401).
2) Disconnect the connector plug, P12. 3) For the autothrottle disconnect switch, S7, do a check of the continuity between pin 4 and pin 5.
NOTE: If there is no continuity, the switch has operated.

4) For the autothrottle reset switch, S8, do a check of the continuity between pin 6 and pin 7.
NOTE: If there is continuity, the switch has operated.

(c)
If the switch operated, loosen the screws that attach the switch to the thrust lever. 1) Move the switch away from the lever and tighten the screws.
(d)
If you moved the switch, repeat this procedure: Adjust the applicable autothrottle disconnect switch (S7) or autothrottle reset switch (S8).
(e)
If the switch operates again, bend the switch roller lever no more than 0.06 inch (1.5 mm).
(f)
If you bent the switch roller lever, repeat this procedure: Adjust the applicable autothrottle disconnect switch (S7) or autothrottle reset switch (S8).
(g)
Push the disconnect switch lever on the No. 1 thrust lever to its full travel position and hold.
(h)
Make sure that the switch did operate.
NOTE:____You can hear a click when the switch operates. You also can do a check of the continuity as follows.
1) For switch S7, make sure that there is no continuity between pin 4 and pin 5. 2) For switch S8, make sure that there is continuity between pin 6 and pin 7.

(6) Adjust the applicable autothrottle disconnect switch (S9) or autothrottle reset switch (S10) as follows:
(a)
Push the autothrottle disconnect lever on the number 4 thrust lever forward 0.10 inch (2.5 mm) to the mid travel position and hold.
(b)
Make sure the switch did not operate.
NOTE:____You can hear a click when the switch operates. You also can do a check of the continuity as follows.
1) Remove the ceiling panels in the main passenger cabin to get access to the connector plugs below the control stand (AMM 25-22-01/401).
2) Disconnect the connector plug, P15. 3) For the autothrottle disconnect switch, S9, do a check of the continuity between pin 4 and pin 5.
