(14) Do a visual inspection of the Autothrottle system (Fig. 601):
(a)
Visually examine all of the components from the thrust lever to the resolver. 1) Look for cracks, corrosion or worn surfaces. 2) Make sure that all fasteners are correctly attached.
(b)
Move the forward and reverse thrust levers through their full range of travel. 1) Make sure that the Autothrottle components operate smoothly
and do not bind.
(c)
If the results of the visual inspection are unsatisfactory, you must do the inspections that follow.
S 226-014-N00
(15) Do an inspection of the thrust lever assembly (Fig. 601):
NOTE: The numbers in parenthesis after the component (example,
____ bearings (17,19,21,23,27)) are the index numbers from Figure
601. The index numbers show a check for a wear limit. There could be more than one index number and check for one component.
(a)
Remove the nut and the one shaft assembly (20, 22).
(b)
Remove the eight bolts (24, 26, 28, 30), nuts, and these bearings (17, 19, 21, 23, 27): 1) Four bearings (17) 2) Five bearings (19) 3) Four bearings (21) 4) Four bearings (23) 5) Four bearings (27).
(c)
Do a check on these components for the correct wear limits as shown in the table: 1) Twenty-one bearings (17, 19, 21, 23, 27), one shaft
assembly (20, 22), four levers (18), four pivot rivets (32), four links (31), eight bolts (24, 26, 28, 30), four crank assemblies (29) and four thrust levers (25).
2) If the dimensions of the component are more than the given wear limits, do the applicable repair.
(d) Assemble the thrust lever assembly: 1) Install the twenty-one bearings (17, 19, 21, 23, 27).
a) Apply a layer of MIL-G-23827 grease to the bearings. 2) Install the eight bolts (24, 26, 28, 30). 3) Install the nut and the shaft assembly (20, 22).
a) Tighten the nut to 150-180 pound-inches more than the run-on torque.
(e) Install the switch cover for the thrust lever assembly (AMM 76-11-03/201).
