THRUST LEVER POSITION RESOLVER - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The position resolver for the thrust lever, installed below the control stand assembly, is a mechanical-electrical transducer which changes the mechanical input from the thrust lever into an electrical output. This is done when an electrical signal received from the electronic engine control (EEC) is changed in phase by a quantity in relation to the thrust lever and position resolver. This signal is then sent back to the EEC as an input to put the fuel metering valve on the FMU to its correct position.
 B.  Use this procedure to correctly calibrate the position resolver.
 C.  You must operate all electrical equipment a minimum of 10 minutes before
 you use it to let the temperature become stable.

 D.  You can use the alternative adjustment procedure of the position resolver if you do not have the sinewave generator, digital multimeter, universal counter, or angle position indicator. But, the recommended adjustment procedure of the position resolver is to use the external equipment on the airplane. It is less possible that an error will occur when you use the external equipment and not the airplane EICAS screen.

G12001 Kit-Rig Pin

 (a)  
TL1, MS20392-4C or equivalent 0.309-0.311
 inch (7.85-7.90 mm) diameter rod or bolt
 by 12.0 inches (305 mm) in length.


 (b)  
TR1 and TR2, MS20392-3C or equivalent
 0.246-0.248 inch (6.25-6.30 mm) diameter
 rod or bolt by 3.5 inches (89 mm) in
 length.

Sinewave Generator - Output Range 0-10 (|0.01) volts RMS,
 Frequency Range 2.5-3.5 (|0.01) kHz,

Digital Multimeter - Range 0-50 (|0.01) volts RMS; commercially available

 (3)  
Universal Counter - Range 2.5-3.5 (|0.01) kHz; commercially
 available


 (4)  
Angle Position Indicator - 0.00 to 359.99 degrees(|0.05 degree), 360 Hz to 4.8 kHz; (North Atlantic 8810S3128 or equivalent)
