 G.  A pressure relief panel is installed in the fixed leading edge skin inboard of the engine-to-wing fairing. The pressure relief panel, secured by a compression spring-loaded lock plate, is designed to open at a pressure of one psi. The function of the pressure relief panel is to alleviate pressures due to leaks or ruptures in ducts associated with the engine.
 H.  Vortex generators are installed on the upper wing surface.

 AILERON - INSPECTION/CHECK

 A.  This procedure has one task. The task gives instructions to do a visual inspection of the internal area of the ailerons.

 2.  Examine the Composite Flight Controls_________________________________________
 A.  Equipment
 (1)  
Flexible Video Borescope with (4) four way articulation, .5 inch (12mm) diameter X 10 feet (3M) long insertion tube with forward and side viewing optical tip adapters.

 (2)  
Flexible Fiberoptic Borescope with (4) four way articulation, .35 inch (8mm) diameter X 3 feet (1m) long insertion tube with forward and side viewing optical tip adapters.

 (3)  
Flexible or rigid guide tube - Dekoron is a trade mark for a formable type metal cored tubing.

Put the borescope tube into an access hole that is 2 inches in diameter.

 (3)  S 296-004-B00Move the borescope tube until you can see an area where an inspection is necessary.
 NOTE:____ If you can not move the optical tip into the correct areas, use a guide tube.
 (4)  S 296-005-B00Examine the area for these unsatisfactory conditions:
 NOTE:____ Do not move the borescope tube while you examine an area.
 (a) (b) (c) (d)  Signs of deterioration.Bulges and cracks on the skins and the ribs.Corrosion on the fasteners.Other signs of the stress.
 (5)  S 976-006-B00Make a record of all the unsatisfactory conditions before you move the borescope to a different area.
 (6)  S 416-007-B00Install the access panels.

 MAIN FRAME - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General

 A.  The main frame consists of the left and right wing boxes, and the center wing box. The left and right wing boxes are attached to the center wing box at the four corners where the spars and the wing root ribs meet by means of three-flanged terminal fittings and longitudinal upper and lower flanged chords at left and right buttock lines 70.85. At any one corner the center wing box spar, the wing box spar and the wing root rib are attached to the flanges of the terminal fitting.
