B. Procedure - Remove the Access Door

Remove the fasteners with a screwdriver until the grooves in the indicator are parallel with the edge of the skin cutout.

Remove the access door.

Put the access door in the correct position.

Make sure the long end of the latch can hold the access door.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FASTENER DOES NOT CROSS-THREAD WITH THE
_______ THREADS IN THE FASTENER HOLE. THE FASTENER MUST BE PERPENDICULAR TO THE ACCESS DOOR WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE FASTENER. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN THE FASTENER CORRECTLY, THE ACCESS DOOR MAY APPEAR TO BE SECURED WHEN IT IS NOT. LOSS OF THE ACCESS DOOR MAY OCCUR.
MAKE SURE THAT THE INDICATORS ARE PERPENDICULAR TO THE EDGE OF THE SKIN CUTOUT WHILE YOU TIGHTEN THE FASTENERS. WHEN THE INDICATORS ARE PERPENDICULAR TO THE EDGE, THE LATCH OF THE ACCESS DOOR IS ALSO PERPENDIULAR. THE LATCH MUST BE PERPENDICULAR TO HOLD THE ACCESS DOOR ON THE AIRPLANE. IF THE INDICATOR IS NOT PERPENDICULAR TO THE EDGE OF THE SKIN CUTOUT AFTER INSTALLATION, LOSS OF THE ACCESS DOOR MAY OCCUR.
DO NOT APPLY OVERTORQUE TO FASTENERS. A STRIPPED OR BROKEN
FASTENER CAN CAUSE LOSS OF THE DOOR IN FLIGHT.
(3) Tighten the fasteners.
NOTE: The indicator turns with the latch when the screw is
____ tightened. When the grooves in the indicator are perpendicular to the edge of the skin cutout, the latch is closed.

WING VORTEX GENERATORS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______
A. Inboard and outboard rows of vortex generators are installed on both upper wing surfaces. The function of the vortex generator is to improve airflow across the wing surfaces.
B. A total of 21 vortex generators are installed on the wing box upper surface of each wing.
C. The vortex generators are bonded to the upper wing using adhesive BMS 5-79 or BMS 5-95 (Ref 20-30-11).
