REMOVABLE WING TIP - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are three tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal of the wing tip, one task for drilling and chamfering of fastener holes in replacement wing tip navagation light windows, and one task for installation of the wing tip. Before you remove the wing tip, you must make sure all the lights are off. You must remove the forward fairing before you remove the middle fairing. You must also remove the access panel before you remove the middle fairing. You must remove the middle fairing before you remove the aft fairing.

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU OPEN ALL THE NECESSARY CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR THE
_______ WINGTIP LIGHTS. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS WHO REMOVE THE WINGTIP FAIRINGS.
(1)
Open all the necessary circuit breakers of the lights in the wingtip (Fig. 401) (AMM 33-43-11/201, AMM 33-45-11/201, AMM 33-49-00/201).

Do a check to make sure all the lights are off in the wingtip before you begin work on the wingtip.

Remove the forward fairing.
(a)
Remove the fasteners which attach the fairing to the wing tip closure rib.
