DU Lifecycle Management
The cycle of validation of the modifications of a Document Unit
evolves following the “lifecycle of a DU”.
The Document Unit status is updated at the various steps of the
lifecycle.
This DU lifecycle clearly states the status of each DU.
It creates an efficient separation of the tasks between
authors, reviewers and authorities.
A workflow is created.

Freeze and Dispatch manual with various DU:
- DU in released state are published during a manual Freeze and Dispatch
- DU in other states are not taken into account.

been dispatched, the previous
DU is kept.
Otherwise, no DU is copied in
the pending version.
The DU in “released”
status is copied to
pending version.

Publishing can be done at any time, it publishes all DU no matter of its DU
state.
It can publish in LPC Browser format and in PDF format.
This is possible to publish in PDF for the whole fleet, or by aircraft only.

Activate “Quick Publish” option in the
“Manual” menu
Browse for the XML Product File of the
manual to be published
Choose a publishing format (same as local
publishing) and the location of the output file
“Quick Publishing Manual” enables users to publish an incoming manual
data from Airbus without loading data in FODM. The Quick Publish is used
to quickly publish manual and deliver it to the crew.
To quickly publish a manual, the user must do the following steps:

Publish One Solution In PDF
FODM offers the possibility to print each solution in PDF format.
You can print the solution from the PDFversion.
In Manual Explorer, select the
solution you want to print.
Click on the “print solution” shortcut.

Publish One Solution In PDF
Adobe Acrobat is opened and the DU is displayed in PDF format.
User can now print using Adobe Acrobat function.
