(20) Remove the worm-drive clamp which attaches
the flexible hose to the generator cooling shroud
and remove the flexible hose.
(21) Remove the worm-drive clamp which attaches
the flexible hose to the exhaust-heat-exchanger.
Remove the flexible hose and move the air inlet
duct assembly clear of the airplane.
Hold the air cooling duct!
(22) Remove the two worm-drive clamps from the
flexible hose between the exhaust heatexchanger
and the cabin heat control valve.
S Remove the flexible hose.
(23) Remove the engine exhaust system:
S Remove the eight nuts and washers from the
exhaust port flanges. Move the exhaust
system clear of the airplane.
Only if you install a new engine.
Hold the exhaust system!
Discard the eight nuts and washers.
(24) Disconnect the propeller control cable, at the
propeller governor:
S Loosen the nut of the attachment bolt.
S Pull the cable clear.

(25) Release the propeller control cable from the
support bracket at the propeller governor:
S Remove the front adjusting nut and washer.
S Move the cable clear of the support bracket.
S Remove the rear adjusting nut and washer.
(26) Move the cable aft through the rubber grommets
in the engine cooling baffles.
Move the propeller control cable clear
of the engine.
(27) Remove the propeller (if necessary). Refer to Section 61-00.
(28) Disconnect the mixture control eye end at the
mixture control lever at the fuel injector:
S Remove the nut and washer from the long
bolt at the mixture lever.
S Release the mixture cable eye end from the
lever.
S Remove the spacer and the long bolt.
(29) Remove the eye end from the mixture control
cable:
S Release the lock-nut.
S Remove the eye end fitting and lock-nut from
the cable.
(30) Release the mixture cable from the support
bracket at the front of the engine:
S Remove the bottom adjustment nut and
washer from the control cable.
S Move the control cable clear of the bracket.
S Remove the top adjustment nut and washer
from the control cable.
(31) Move the cable up through the rubber grommets
in the engine baffles and clear of the engine.

(32) Disconnect the throttle control cable at the
Injector:
S Remove the nut and washer from the
attachment bolt.
S Remove the eye end from the bolt.
S Remove the bolt and washer from the throttle
lever at the injector.
(33) Remove the eye end from the throttle control
cable:
S Release the lock nut.
S Remove the eye end and the lock-nut.
(34) Remove the control cable from the support
bracket at the bottom of the engine:
S Remove the front adjustment nut and washer
from the outer sheath.
S Move the control cable clear of the bracket.
(35) Move the throttle cable clear of the engine.
(36) Disconnect the alternate air control cable:
S Release the screw which attaches the wire
end to the swivel in the alternate air
assembly.
S Remove the lock-nut which holds the control
cable outer sheath in the support bracket at
the alternate air assembly.
S Move the control cable clear of the engine
mount.
(37) Remove the air baffles. Refer to Section 75-00.
WARNING: DO NOT GET FUEL ON YOU. FUEL CAN CAUSE SKIN DISEASE. DO
NOT ALLOW FIRE NEAR FUEL. FUEL BURNS AND CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PEOPLE AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(38) Disconnect the fuel feed hose at the firewall. Use a suitable container to catch the
fuel. Put caps on the hose and the
firewall connection.
(39) Disconnect the fuel feed hose at the outlet from
the fuel pump.
Move the hose clear of the engine
mount.
(40) Disconnect the fuel drain hose from the enginedriven
