2. Remove/Install the ELECTRIC MASTER Key Switch
A. Remove the ELECTRIC MASTER Key Switch

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY
WORK ON THE STARTER SYSTEM. IF THE ENGINE STARTS THE
PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
(1) Make sure that the engine is safe:
S Set the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch to
OFF.
S Set the ENGINE MASTER switch to OFF.
S Set the power lever to IDLE.
(2) Remove the engine top cowling. Refer to Section 71-11.
(3) Disconnect the airplane main battery. Refer to Section 24-34.
(4) Remove the instrument panel cover. Refer to Section 25-10.
(5) Release the retaining nut from the cockpit side of
the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch.
(6) Move the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch
towards the front of the airplane.
(7) Disconnect the cables from the ELECTRIC
MASTER key switch
Make a note of the position of the
cables.
(8) Remove the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch
from the airplane.

OFF.
S Set the ENGINE MASTER switch to OFF.
S Set the power lever to IDLE.
(2) Put the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch in
position between the instrument panel and the
firewall.
(3) Connect the cables to the ELECTRIC MASTER
key switch
Refer to the wiring diagrams and the
notes you made during removal.
(4) Move the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch into
position in the instrument panel.
(5) Install the retaining nut to the cockpit side of the
ELECTRIC MASTER key switch.
(6) Install the instrument panel cover. Refer to Section 25-10.
(7) Connect the airplane main battery. Refer to Section 24-34.
(8) Install the engine top cowling. Refer to Section 71-11.
(9) Do an engine ground run-up. Refer to Section 71-01.

(2) Remove the engine top cowling. Refer to Section 71-11.
(3) Disconnect the airplane main battery. Refer to Section 24-34.
(4) Remove the instrument panel cover. Refer to Section 25-10.
(5) Release the retaining nut from the cockpit side of
the ENGINE MASTER switch.
(6) Move the ENGINE MASTER switch towards the
front of the airplane.
(7) Disconnect the cables from the ENGINE
MASTER switch
Make a note of the position of the
cables.
(8) Remove the ENGINE MASTER switch from the
airplane.

(7) Connect the airplane main battery. Refer to Section 24-34.
(8) Install the engine top cowling. Refer to Section 71-11.
(9) Do an engine ground run-up. Refer to Section 71-01.
