5.4 DESIGN LOADS
5.4.1 Design Loads Definition
The allowable handling loads for the engine structure are shown in Figure 5-5 through Figure 5-9. The engine fan case-to-stand adapters (Figure 5-10) is designed to shield the fan case from excess moment inputs and limit the transport loads to the allowable handling loads. The rear support adapter does not impose axial loads on the engine.

Figure 5-7 ALLOWABLE LIMITS
1.11 Primary handling pads must be used for shipping.
1.10 Under &9A ultimate G load condition, both front and rear supports must take out axial load. A deflection of .100 inches(2.54 millimeters) between the front and rear handling planes is acceptable before the rear fittings are loaded. All four supports combined provide a G load capability.
1.9 No side load is permitted using secondary handling methods.
1.8 Allowable loads on this drawing reflect the load capabilities of the engine hardware and are not intended to be design loads or load capabilities of ground handling fixtures.
1.7 Supports for the ground handling points must be symmetrical about the vertical engine centerline. The engine must not be rotated about the axial engine centerline during handling or shipping.
1.6 Allowable loads and offsets are based on a total engine weight of 8,800 lb (3992 kg) (including inlet cowl, exhaust nozzle and tail plug attached). CG located at Sta 119.320.
1.5 The horizontal front ground handling configuration meets either the &9A ultimate G load condition with appropriate moment arm restrictions or &5V ultimate crash load condition.
1.4 The shipping and ground handling (excluding hoisting) allowable limit loads meet the following G load
