2.10 STRUT FAIRING AND STRUCTURE
2.10.1 Strut Fairing and Structure Description
The strut provides structure to support the forward and aft engine mounts. The lower portion of the strut is exposed to the engine fire zone and is constructed of fireproof material. Provisions for attachment of the forward bootstrap bracket are incorporated in the forward strut bulkhead.
There are three GSE hard points on each side of the strut. These hardpoints are nutplate locations for the aft bootstrap. Two nutplates are for the drag link bracket location and one nutplate fastens the aft bootstrap support brace to the strut.
