FAR 21.127 : Tests : aircraft.
(a)
Each person manufacturing aircraft under a type certi.cate only shall establish an approved production .ight test procedure and .ight check-o. form, and in accor-dancewiththatform, .ighttesteach aircraftproduced.
(b)
Eachproduction .ighttestproceduremustincludethefollowing :
(1)
An operational check of the trim, controllability, or other .ight characteristics to establish that the production aircraft has the same range and degree of control as the prototype aircraft.
(2)
An operational check of each part or system operated by the crew while in .ight to establish that, during .ight, instrument readings are within normal range.
(3)
A determination that all instruments are properly marked, and that all pla-cards and required .ight manuals are installed after .ight test.
(4)
A check of the operational characteristics of the aircraft on the ground.
(5)
A check on any other items peculiar to the aircraft being tested that can best be done during the ground or .ight operation of the aircraft.
FAR 21.128 : Tests : aircraft engines.
(a) Eachperson manufacturingaircraft engines under atype certi.cate only shall subject each engine (except rocket engines for which the manufacturer must establish a sampling technique) to an acceptable test run that includes the following :
(1)
Break-in runs that include a determination of fuel and oil consumption and a determination ofpower characteristics at[rated maximum continuouspower or thrust and, if applicable, at rated takeo. power or thrust.]
(2)
Atleast .vehoursof operationat[rated maximumcontinuouspowerorthrust. For engineshavinga rated takeo.power or thrusthigher than rated maximum continuouspowerorthrust,the .ve-hourrunmustinclude30 minutesat rated takeo. power or thrust.]

FAR 21.130 : Statement of conformity.
[Each holder or licensee ofa type certi.cate only, for a product manufactured in the United States, shall, upon the initial transfer by him of the ownership of such product manufactured underthattype certi.cate,oruponapplicationforthe originalissue of an aircraftairworthinesscerti.cateoran aircraft engine orpropellerairworthinessapproval tag(FAAForm8130-3),give theAdministrator a statement of conformity(FAAForm 317). This statement must be signed by an authorized person who holds a responsible position in the manufacturing organization, and must include–]
(a)
For eachproduct, a statementthattheproduct conformstoitstype certi.cate and is in condition for safe operation;
(b)
For each aircraft, a statement that the aircraft has been .ight checked; and
(c)
For each aircraft engine or variable pitch propeller, a statement that the engine or propeller has been subjected by the manufacturer to a .nal operational check. However, in the case of a product manufactured for an Armed Force of the United States, a statement of conformity is not required if the product has been accepted by that Armed Force.]
