SOFT KEY FUNCTION
sAM Selects AM (both sidebands) mode, returns to previous screen.
sALE -ECCM Selects ALE -ECCM mode, NORM returns to previous screen.
LSBg Selects lower side band mode, returns to previous screen.
HF MRNg Selects ITU Marine channel band, returns to previous screen.
ALE -ECCM Selects ALE -ECCM mode
SILENTg without automatic replies, returns to previous screen.
RTNg Returns to previous screen without changing existing band settings.
3.9.2.3 Settings Screen. Setting screen allows setting of secondary radio controls, selection of a new preset, and gives access to frequency hopping set-up parameters.
SOFT KEY FUNCTION
COM 5 ***** Header identifying the radio and band selected.
gPRESET Selects number in scratchpad as frequency preset number.
gTUNE Selects frequency .eld for editing.
gPWR Toggles radio transmit power outputs between LOW, MID, HI.
gVOL Changes volume of radio in headset.
sXMT/RCV Shows current tuned frequencies for transmit and receive operation.
BANDg Access band screen for this radio.
SQUELCHs Toggles squelch ON or OFF.
RTNg Returns to previous screen without changing band, or settings.
SOFT KEY FUNCTION
ALE-ECCM Title of screen.
SETUP
sSEND POS Calls the selected station, sends GPS present position, and terminates the link.
sABORT Cancels settings, ends established link.
gSELF Edit the current address for ALE ADDRESS operation.
gCALL Edit address of called stations.
ADDRESS
gAPPLY Applies address edits, if radio is in ALE-ECCM band.
GPS-TOD Updates AN/ARC-220 internal SYNCg clock with GPS time.
RTNg Returns to previous screen without changing edits.

ICS 5 transmitter selector switch -Set.

Radio push-to-talk switch -Press-to-talk; release to listen.

2. SK-6 soft key -Push, to highlight COM 5.

BAND soft key -Push.

Either ALE-ECCM soft key -Push.

On COM SUM screen, SETTINGS soft key -Push.

On SETTINGS screen, ALE SETUP soft key -Push.

On ALE SETUP screen, SELF ADDRESS soft key -Push. Select your address from the list. Scroll through addresses using PREV NEXT rocker switch.
NOTE
ALL is the last address entry on the list. Press PREV side of rocker switch to display this address quickly.

CALL ADDRESS soft key -Push. Select the other station’s address from the list. Scroll through addresses using PREV NEXT rocker switch.
9.
APPLY soft key -Push. Select your address from the list. The reference numbers next to SELF ADDRESS and CALL ADDRESS will return to 0, but the addresses will remain as selected.
