Cut the new carpet the same as the old carpet.

Install the doubleback tape to the floor panel at 0.50 inch from the carpet edge.

Install the doubleback tape to the floor panel for the remaining carpet as shown (Fig. 401).

Use the loose double overedge stitch on the carpet edges to prevent damage.
(6)
Apply the adhesive to the carpet edges if it is necessary.

Put the carpet in the correct position and push the carpet on the doubleback tape.
