(b)
Install the screws that attach the ballast to the light assembly.
(c)
Connect the electrical connector to the ballast.
(d)
Install the lens on the ceiling panel.

(3) Do a test of the ballast:
(a)
Remove each DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close each circuit breaker that was opened.
(b)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(c)
Set the switch for the galley light to the bright position.
1) Make sure the lights connected to the new ballast come on brightly.
(d)
Set the switch to the dim position.
1) Make sure the lights become dim.
(e)
Set the switch to the usual position.

(4) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

UPPER DECK PASSENGER COMPARTMENT LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______
A. Upper deck lighting is supplied by these light systems:
(1)
Indirect Ceiling lights
(2)
Sidewall lights
(3)
Reading lights
(4)
Closet lights
(5)
Dome Lights
(6)
Galley lights
(7)
Lavatory lights
(8)
Crew Rest Lights
B. Power is provided by the 28 vac Gnd Svc Bus and the 115 vac Gnd Svc Bus through circuit breakers, at the power Distribution Center, P414.
C. The light switches are installed in the passenger seat armrest, above the passenger seats, near the crew service door, and in the attendants panel. The attendants panel is located on the bulkhead near the lavatory door.
D. During decompression, relays energize and cancel the switchlight settings and cause the ceiling lights, sidewall lights, and personnel accommodation lights to come on.

2. Descriptions____________
A. Indirect Ceiling Lights
(1)
The flourescent ceiling lights provide indirect lighting of the inboard area of the passenger compartment. The light fixtures are installed in the outboard sides of the ceiling panels. The ballast is installed on the top side of the ceiling panel. To get access, lower the applicable ceiling panel.
(2)
A switchlight on the attendant's panel controls the upper deck ceiling lights.
B. Sidewall Lights
(1) The flourescent sidewall lights provide indirect lighting of the outboard area of the passenger compartment. Light fixtures and ballasts are installed in the window reveal panels
