R A. Removal of the Brace Tool from the Lockstay Actuator
R WARNING : DURING THIS TEST, THE LOCK-STAY MUST STAY IN THE LOCKED OVER-_______
R CENTER POSITION. DO NOT ADJUST THE SPRING EXPANSION TOOL OR THE
R LOCK-STAY BRACE TOOL TO MOVE THE LOCK-STAY INTO THE UNLOCKED
R OVER-CENTER POSITION.
R (1) Remove the lockstay actuator from the lockstay brace tool as follows:
R (a) Release and open the clamps (20) on the support arms (18) and
R (21).
R (b) Remove the actuating cylinder (7) (weight 3.3 kg (7.2752 lb))
R from the brace tool (13). Temporarily attach the actuating
R cylinder to the adjacent structure.
R NOTE : Do not let the cylinder weight be held by the hoses only.____
R This may cause damage to the hoses.
R (2) Remove the lockstay brace tool (13) as follows:
R (a) Remove the bolt (10) and the sleeve (12).
R (b) Remove the nut (4) and the washer (3).
R (c) Remove the pin (2) and the washer (1).
R NOTE : If the pin (2) cannot be removed easily, loosen the____
R lock-nuts (15). Adjust the length of the lockstay brace
R tool with the adjuster-nut (16) until the pin (2) can be
R removed.
R (d) Remove the pin (8).
R (e) Remove the lockstay brace tool (13).
R (3) Install the MLG lockstay actuating cylinder (7) as follows:
R (a) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a
R MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING
R AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
R (b) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed components are
R clean and in the correct condition.
R (c) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent
R area.
R NOTE : In the step that follows, make sure that the Materials No.____
R 04-004 and No. 04-022 are not mixed together. Do not use
R them at the same time (Ref. SIL 12-008).
R (d) Lubricate the pins (2) and (8) and the attachment lugs of the
R sidestay and the lockstay with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-
R 004) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022).
R (e) Hold the actuating cylinder (7) in the correct position at the
R lockstay. Install the pin (2), the washer (1) and the washers
R (6). The washers (6) are installed on the two sides of the
R eye-end of the actuating cylinder (7).
R (f) Align the other end of the actuating cylinder (7) in the sidestay
R and install the pin (8).
R (g) Install the washers (9), one on each side of the actuating
R cylinder (7).
R (h) Install the washer (3) and the nut (4).
R (i) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 0.46 and 0.70 m.daN (40.70 and
