R (1) General

R (a) 7 tapping units are installed along each passenger-compartment
R lateral wall. Each tapping unit has an interface for a maximum of
R 2 HMDU.
R (b) Electrical connections are made through 4 connectors. The first
R tapping unit of each data-line receives the video and control
R data sent from the SCU and 115VAC through connector J2. The same
R data is connected through connector J3 to the next tapping unit
R input-connector J2. The last tapping unit ends with a termination
R plug connected to connector J3.
R (2) Function
R Video and control data sent from the SCU are connected to a related
R display unit through the tapping units. Each tapping unit has an
R 8-bit internal DIP-switch to give a unique address to the unit. This
R enables the SCU to control each HMDU individually.
