Summary
The theme of the project was enhancing corporate memory in petrochemical operations through improved
communications and cross-team sharing of lessons learnt.
The objectives were:
· to develop an operational framework:
· to identify and manage operational risks resulting from soft factors - particularly related to information,
communications, corporate memory and team culture;
· to improve information practice at operator team and management levels using team approaches and
technology.
· to illustrate how computer-based decision support and electronic access to information by operators and others
can improve corporate memory and related practices.
· to identify mechanisms to improve corporate memory and sharing of lessons learnt across shifts, assets and the
industry.
For a description of the results of the project, see section 7.1, Supporting team operation.
