OXYGEN
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
The oxygen system includes an oxygen cylinder installed on baggage compartment rear bulkhead. The cylinder charging is carried out through the filler valve accessible via access door 219.
2. CYLINDER CAPACITY The steel cylinder maximum capacity is 65.7 cu.ft (1860 litres).
3. RECOMMENDED OXYGEN Charge the oxygen cylinder with aviator's breathing oxygen (TB 05-075) only.

3. RECOMMENDED OXYGEN Charge the oxygen cylinder with aviator's breathing oxygen (TB 05-075) only.

OXYGEN
SERVICING
WARNING OBSERVE ALL THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DESCRIBED IN 35-00-00.
CAUTION : THE OXYGEN SYSTEM CHARGING MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY.
1. OXYGEN CYLINDER CHARGING (Table 301)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Charging cart
- Thermometer
- Oxygen (TB 05-075)
B. Procedure
1) Apply the oxygen system procedure - refer to 35-00-00.
2) Connect a ground cable from the oxygen charging cart to the aircraft.
3) Open access door 219.
4) Measure the temperature of the oxygen cylinder.
5) Make sure the thermometer indication is stable and record the temperature.
6) Determine the correct charging pressure on the temperature/pressure chart - refer to Table 301.
NOTE : The cylinder is full when its pressure is 1850 psi (127 bar) at 70° F (21° C). If the cylinder temperature is different from 70° F (21° C), determine the charging pressure required as a function of the cylinder temperature.
7) If the pressure indicated on the oxygen cylinder pressure gage is low, top off the cylinder :
a) Make sure the area around the charging valve is clean.
b) Remove the charging valve cap.
c) Make sure the oxygen supply hose of the oxygen charging cart is clean.
d) Bleed a small quantity of oxygen through the oxygen supply hose to remove all traces of humidity.
