b) Check tightening of aircraft piping system fittings and retighten as necessary.
c) Repeat following operations 9), 10), 11) and 12).
15) For the first charging or following a serious leak, carry out following operations
a) Make sure that "LOW", "HIGH", "VAC" and fluoro-dye injector hand valves are closed.
b) Remove filling plug and pour one pouch of fluorescent tracer additive in the injector.
c) Install filling plug.
CAUTION : AIR IN THE SYSTEM CREATES A CHEMICAL REACTION AFFECTING MATERIALS AND REDUCES CONDENSER PERFORMANCE.
d) Start vacuum pump.
e) Open "VAC" hand valve and draw vacuum for 6 to 8 seconds.
f) Close "VAC" hand valve and stop vacuum pump.
g) If the system has been discharged and compressor oil drained in the recycling stand, screw oil (TB 05-923) bottle onto the oil injector.
16) Charge the system
a) Open fluoro-dye injector hand valve.
b) If required, open the oil injector by-pass hand valve.
c) Open "REF" hand valve.
d) Open "HIGH" and "LOW" hand valves and wait for refrigerant transfer into the system.
e) When the oil quantity equivalent to the one drained has been sucked in the system, close the by-pass tee hand valve of the oil injector.
f) When the refrigerant stops flowing into the system, complete charging. If the compressor cannot be run
1 Press the control switch of charging cylinder lower resistor.
2 Heat the charging cylinder to increase the pressure - refer to table 301.
3 When a total quantity of 1.98 lbs (0.9 kg) of refrigerant has been forced in the system, close "LOW", "HIGH" and "REF" hand valves.
4 Check that the sight glass is free of bubbles. If the compressor can be run
WARNING : COMPRESSOR RUNNING, NEVER CHARGE REFRIGERANT THROUGH HP VALVE SINCE THIS WILL FORCE REFRIGERANT BACK INTO REFRIGERANT DRUM, AND DRUM MAY EXPLODE.
1 Close "HIGH" hand valve.
2 Start engine and stabilize to IDLE.

3 Set "AIR CONDITIONING" switches to "AIR COND" and "HI FAN".
4 Charge refrigerant while controlling low pressure gage reading at 40 psi (2.8 bars).
5 Check the system until the sight glass is free of bubbles.
NOTE : During the first operating hour, the compressor oil not dissolved with the
refrigerant might create a whitish color that can mask the bubbles. Verify the
sight glass with attention to perform an adequate charging.
6 Shut down the engine.
g) Disconnect HP and LP hoses from HP and LP service valves.
h) Install blanking caps.
i) Remove oil bottle from the oil injector and properly install the blanking cap.
