c) If required, add oil.
3) Fill charging cylinder
a) Remove blanking caps.

b) Connect refrigerant (TB 05-922) drum to the red high pressure (HP) hose of the charging cart.
c) Make sure that the "VAC" and "LOW" hand valves of the charging cart are closed.
d) Open the refrigerant drum hand valve and then, slowly, the charging cart "HIGH" and "REF" hand valves.
e) When the refrigerant stops flowing into the charging cylinder, close the "REF" hand valve.
f) Read pressure on the cylinder pressure gage.
g) Rotate the cylinder sight glass until the pressure value is in line with the red column.
h) Open "REF" hand valve.
i) Pull on purging valve located on cylinder head to drop the pressure and transfer 3.31 lbs (1.5 kg) of refrigerant.
NOTE : The refrigerant weight should be 1.5 time the weight of the charge required in the system.
j) Close "REF", "HIGH" and refrigerant drum hand valves.
k) Disconnect the refrigerant drum and install the blanking caps.
4) For the first charging or following a serious leak, carry out following operations
a) Connect the fluoro-dye injector on the charging cart "LOW" fitting.
b) Connect the oil injector on the fluoro-dye injector.
c) Connect blue low pressure (LP) hose to oil injector.
d) Make sure that fluoro-dye injector hand valve is open.
e) Make sure that oil injector by-pass tee hand valve is closed.
5) Remove baggage compartment bottom door 242.
6) Remove blanking caps from system service valves in the rear fuselage.
7) Connect the blue LP hose to the LP service valve.
NOTE : Wipe water off from the hose fitting with a lint-free clean cloth.
8) Connect the red HP hose to the HP service valve.
NOTE : Wipe water off from the hose fitting with a lint-free clean cloth.
CAUTION : AIR IN THE SYSTEM CREATES A CHEMICAL REACTION AFFECTING MATERIALS AND REDUCES CONDENSER PERFORMANCE.
9) Start vacuum pump.
10) Open "VAC", "LOW" and "HIGH" hand valves and draw vacuum for approximately 30 minutes.
11) Close "VAC" hand valve, stop vacuum pump and hold vacuum for approximately 10 minutes.
12) Check low and high pressure gages and verify that the system is holding a vacuum.
13) If the system is airtight, close "LOW" and "HIGH" hand valves.

14) If the pressure rises, leak in the system, carry out following steps
a) Check tightening of charging cart hoses and accessories and retighten as necessary.
