REFRIGERANT DISCHARGING
SERVICING
1. SYSTEM DISCHARGING (Figure 301)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Charging cart KLIMAX 134 PR4 type or equivalent
- Recycling stand KLIMAX 1500 type or equivalent
- Safety goggles and gloves
- Lint-free clean cloths
B. Procedure
WARNING : OBEY SAFETY USE PRECAUTIONS - refer to 12-15-00.
1) Park the aircraft in a well ventilated area.
2) Position the recycling stand and the charging cart near the aircraft.
NOTE : The recycling stand must be higher than the charging cart to allow complete system discharging.
3) Remove baggage compartment bottom door 242.
4) Remove blanking caps.
5) Connect a hose on the recycling stand "IN" union.
6) Connect the hose opposite end to the LP service valve.
7) Connect a hose on the recycling stand "OUT" union.
8) Connect the hose opposite end to the charging cart HP union.
9) Open the charging cart "HIGH" and "REF" hand valves.
10) Set the recycling stand switch to "ON" and verify that the green indicator light illuminates.
NOTE : The recycling stand will discharge the system, separate the oil from the refrigerant and will store it into the charging cylinder.
11) When the pressure becomes negative, empty system, the recycling stand will stop automatically.
12) Observe the gage and restart the stand if the pressure increases.
13) Close the charging cart "REF" and "HIGH" hand valves.
14) Disconnect hoses and install blanking caps.
15) Remove blanking cap from recycling stand "OIL" fitting.
16) Collect drained oil in a measuring jar and record the quantity.
17) Discard the drained oil.
18) Install blanking cap on the "OIL" fitting.
19) Remove the recycling stand and the charging cart.
