737-600/700/800/900 TRAINING MANUAL CDS -- ND - CENTERED MAP vertical path, and the center of the scale shows the
airplane.
The vertical track deviation scale shows +/- 400 feet from the center mark to the outer marks. Maximum pointer movement extends more than the scale outer marks to a limit of +/- 430 feet. When vertical deviation is more than the maximum scale range, a numeric readout of deviation shows above or below the scale. The maximum numeric readout is 9999.

CDS -- ND - SUPPLEMENTAL MAP MODE DATA General
Supplemental data can show on the centered and expanded map mode display. This is the supplemental data that can show on the map mode display:
-Navigation aids -Off-route waypoints -Airports -Waypoint altitude constraints and estimated time
of arrival (ETA) -VOR relative bearing radials -GPS position -ADIRU position.
EFIS Control Panel Map Switches
The EFIS control panel has five single-function, momentary action push button switches that select supplemental navigation data to show on the map mode display. All of the map switches can be on at the same time. These are the five map switches:
- STA
- WPT
- ARPT
- DATA
- POS.
When you select these switches, one of these cyan (blue) annunciation shows on the left side of the map display to show that the function is selected:
737-600/700/800/900 TRAINING MANUAL
- STA
- WPT
- ARPT.
Map Switch - STA
Push the STA switch to show cyan navigation aids that are not being manually tuned. If the map range is in the 5, 10, 20, or 40 NM ranges, high and low altitude navigation aids show. Above 40 NM range, only high altitude navigation aids show. A high altitude navigation aid is one that is regulatory agency designated as being reliable at cruise altitudes.
Three type of navigation aids can show:
-VOR stations
-VORTAC stations
-DME/TACAN stations.
Map Switch - WPT
Push the WPT switch to show off-route waypoints. The cyan off route-waypoints show in 5, 10, 20, and 40 NM range only.
Map Switch - ARPT
Push the ARPT switch to show airports that are not part of the flight plan. The airports are cyan.

CDS -- ND - SUPPLEMENTAL MAP MODE DATA Map Switch - DATA
Push the DATA switch to show altitude constraints and estimated time of arrival (ETA) at waypoints that are part of the flight plan.
Altitude constraints show in feet. An altitude constraint shows the altitude where the airplane is to be as it goes across the waypoint. Some altitude constraint values have the letter A or B after the numerical value. A shows that the airplane is to be at or above the altitude constraint value as the airplane goes across the waypoint. B shows that the airplane is to be at or below the altitude constraint value as the airplane goes across the waypoint.
Altitude constraint and ETA data for the active waypoint are magenta. Altitude constraint and ETA data for all inactive waypoints are white.
Map Switch - POS
Push the POS switch to show position data on the map display. This is the position data that shows on the map display:
-A white symbol that shows the position of each ADIRU in relation to the FMS airplane position -One or two white symbols that show each GPS position in relation to the FMS airplane position -Green radials that show the relative bearing from tuned VOR stations to the FMS airplane position.
