CDS -- PFD - FLIGHT MODE ANNUNCIATIONS
All active pitch modes show in green. A green highlight box shows around the pitch mode for ten seconds when the mode changes.
These are the armed pitch modes that can show:
-G/S
-V/S
-G/S V/S
-FLARE.

Armed pitch modes show in white.
Autopilot and Flight Director Status
The autopilot and flight director status show above the attitude indication. These are the indications that can show:
-CMD (command)
-FD (flight director)
-TEST
-SINGLE CH (single channel)
-CWS R (control wheel steering roll)
-CWS P (control wheel steering pitch).

CMD shows when a DFCS flight control computer engages in command.
FD shows when you select the DFCS flight directors on the DFCS mode control panel.

The CMD and FD annunciations show above the attitude indication in the center and are green in color. A green highlight box shows when the DFCS status changes.
TEST shows when the DFCS is in test mode. It is green in color and can only show on the ground.
SINGLE CH shows during an autoland approach before DFCS dual channel engagement. It is amber in color. An amber highlight box shows for ten seconds when SINGLE CH first shows.
CWS R and CWS P show when the DFCS engages in the CWS mode or changes back to CWS. An amber highlight box shows for ten seconds when CWS becomes active.

CDS -- PFD - LANDING INDICATIONS Landing Indication
These are the landing indications:
-Localizer and glideslope indications
-ILS Approach reference data
-Rising runway indications
-Marker beacon indications.
Localizer and Glideslope Indications
When the localizer and glideslope deviation is more than 2.5 dots, the localizer and glideslope pointers do not have a fill. When the deviation decreases below 2.5 dots, the pointers have a magenta fill.
The localizer scale can show the standard display or the expanded scale. A two-dot expanded scale can replace the four-dot scale. The expanded scale shows for these conditions:
-LOC deviation is less than 5/8 dot
-LOC or APP mode engages
-ILS course and the airplane track are in 5 degrees
of each other
-An autopilot is in CMD.
There is no expanded scale for glideslope deviation.
The scales and pointers show amber and go on and off in response to a discrete from the DFCS flight control computers if there is too much deviation during an approach. The excessive deviation threshold for the

localizer is a value more than 0.293 degrees. For glideslope, the threshold is 0.35 degrees.
The FCCs also send a test discrete to the DEUs when the autopilot engages in command, and the altitude is less than 1500 feet. This causes the localizer and glideslope scales and pointers to be amber and go on and off for two seconds, go off for two seconds, and then go on and off again for two seconds.
ILS Approach Reference Data
The localizer frequency or identifier and the selected runway heading show when you tune a valid ILS frequency. The localizer identifier normally shows, but the frequency shows if the identifier is not available. The runway heading selected on the DFCS mode control panel also shows.
The indication also shows the DME distance to the related DME station if available.
ILS Frequency or Runway Heading Disagree
If there is a localizer frequency disagreement between the captain and first officer for more than 60 seconds, the frequency display changes to amber, and an amber horizontal line shows through the frequency.
If the captain and first officer select the same frequency, then the selected runway headings are also compared. If the runway headings do not agree for more than 60 seconds, the runway heading value changes to

runway heading.
Rising Runway Indication
The rising runway shows below 2500 feet radio altitude with the localizer pointer in view. Until the airplane goes down to 200 feet radio altitude, the rising runway is at the bottom of the PFD display. Below 200 feet radio altitude, the rising runway moves in the direction of the airplane symbol. The indication shows the radio altitude decrease in relation to the airplane symbol.
