737-600/700/800/900 TRAINING MANUAL CDS -- PFD - RADIO ALTITUDE AND RADIO MINIMUMS INDICATIONS
General
The radio altitude indication on the primary flight display (PFD) shows radio altitude (RA) and radio minimums data. Total range of the radio altimeter is minus 20 feet to 2500 feet.
Radio Altitude
The radio altitude shows as a digital value in the bottom center of the attitude indication. It is white in color. When RA first appears, a white highlight box shows for ten seconds. Below 100 feet, RA changes in 2 feet increments. From 100 feet to 500 feet, it changes in 10 feet increments, and above 500 feet, the increments become 20 feet.
Radio Minimums
You select the radio minimums altitude on the onside EFIS control panel. It shows below and to the right of the radio altitude and is green in color.
During descent when the airplane gets down to the radio minimums altitude, the radio minimums indication changes to amber and goes on and off for three seconds. The radio altitude indication changes to amber but does not go on and off.
You can do a reset of the radio minimums alert by:
-RST (reset) button on the EFIS control panel
-Airplane increases altitude above the radio
minimums value
-Airplane lands.
The radio minimums indication shows blank for:
-A radio minimums value of less than zero
-Selection of the RST (reset) button on the EFIS control panel while there is no radio minimums alert
-Selection of BARO minimums on the EFIS control panel.
NOTE: If the radio minimums display shows blank, the radio minimums alert display does not occur.

CDS -- PFD - TIME CRITICAL ANNUNCIATIONS
Ground Proximity Warning System Time Critical Annunciations
The ground proximity warning system (GPWS) time critical annunciations show below the attitude indication. They are red in color. Only one GPWS annunciations shows at a time.
These are the GPWS annunciations:
-WINDSHEAR warning
-PULL UP warning.
WINDSHEAR shows for a GPWS mode 7 alert (reactive windshear).
PULL UP shows for these GPWS modes:
-Mode 1 (excessive descent rate)
-Mode 2 (excessive closure rate)
-Mode 3 (sink rate after T/O or G/A)
-Terrain Awareness (TA)
-Terrain Clearance Floor (TCF)
-Runway Field Clearance Floor (RFCF)
-Mode 4 (insufficient terrain clearance).
Predictive Windshear System Time Critical Annunciation
The predictive windshear system (PWS) time critical annunciation shows below the attitude indication. It is red in color. Only one GPWS or PWS warning can show at a time.
737-600/700/800/900 TRAINING MANUAL
WINDSHEAR shows for a PWS warning.
The prioritization of the GPWS and PWS warning is done in the GPWS computer. Instrument Switch Annunciation
The INSTR SWITCH (instrument switch) annunciation shows below the altitude tape. It is amber in color. The annunciation shows when the captain and first officer select the same source of IRU data.
Display Source and Maintenance Annunciations
The display source and maintenance time critical annunciations show below the speed tape. Only one annunciation shows at a time. These are the annunciations:
- DSPLY SOURCE
- CDS FAULT
- CDS MAINT.
DSPLY Source
The DSPLY SOURCE annunciation shows for a CDS FAULT if the airplane is in the air or is on the ground with the main engines on. It is amber in color.
The annunciation also shows on the ground or in the air if the CDS source select switch is in the ALL ON 1 or ALL ON 2 position.

The CDS FAULT annunciation shows for a failure of the CDS. It is amber in color. For CDS FAULT to show, the airplane must be on the ground and at least one main engine off.
