Open this circuit breaker on the main power distribution panel, P6, and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a) 6J18, ENG START AIR CONT
(2)
Open the core cowl panels (AMM 71-11-06/201).

(3) Do these steps to remove the filter (Fig. 201):
(a)
Disconnect the tube nut from the filter boss on the case of the start valve.
(b)
Pull the other end of the tube out.
(c)
Discard the packing from the bushing end.
(d)
Remove the filter from the boss.

(1) Remove the start valve filter, if it is necessary.

WARNING: DO NOT GET THE SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN.
_______ DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES AND GLOVES ON WHEN YOU USE THE SOLVENT. KEEP THE SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. THIS SOLVENT IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Clean the filter with the solvent.

Use the compressed air at not more than 30 psig to dry the filter.

Make sure there is no unwanted material in the filter.
(a) If you find unwanted material in the filter, clean the filter again.
