C. Adjust Fuel Quantity Indicating System
(1)
Close fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers (P6 panel).
(2)
Allow system to warm up for five minutes.
(3)
Set tester function switch to A/C TEST - UNSH and adjust capacitance trimmer (Fig. 501) so that digital display on system tester reads exact capacitance given in Fig. 503, Table I.
D. Check indicator full values (Airplanes with digital indicators).
(1)
With tester in SIM SET-COMP, adjust SIMULATOR-COMP to 42.6 pf.
(2)
Set function switch to SIM SET-PROBE. Adjust SIMULATOR-PROBE to ADDED CAPACITANCE value given in Fig. 503, Table II.
(3)
Set tester function switch to IND TEST - A/C + PROBE SIM + COMP SIM position. P2 fuel quantity indication shall be FULL VALUE (Fig. 503, Table II).
(4)
Record P2 fuel quantity indicator full reading.
(5)
Record P15 fueling quantity indicator full reading.
(6)
Compare values recorded in steps (5) and (6). Reading of P15 indicator must agree with
reading of P2 indicator within following tolerances:
Tanks 1 or 2 士10 kgs
Center Tank士10 kgs
(7)
Press P2 push-to-test switch, and check that P2 indicators count down to zero, and error code 3 is displayed within 7 seconds.
(8)
Release P2 push-to-test switch, and ensure P2 indicator displays clear and then turns on all segments of display prior to returning to reading recorded in step (4) within 士 10 kgs.
NOTE: P15 indicator will track P2 indicator to zero and remain there until test is complete.
(9)
Hold P15 test gages and fueling switch in TEST GAGES position and ensure:
(a)
P15 indicators count down to zero and error code 8 is displayed.
(b)
P2 indicators count up and error code 9 is displayed. After counting up to 110 percent full value, P2 indicator will display zero fuel and error code 9.
(10)
Release P15 test gages and fueling switch and check that:
(a)
P15 indicators display zero momentarily, and then light up all segments prior to returning to reading recorded in step (5) within士 10 kgs.
(b)
P2 indicators return to reading recorded in step (4) within 士10 kgs.

E. Check indicator full values (Airplanes with analog indicators).
(1)
Using test set measure resistance and dry capacitances of subsystem and ensure they are within tolerances given in Fig. 503, Tables III, IV, and V.
(2)
If subsystem is not within tolerance, perform tank unit and compensator unit
adjustment/test (Ref 28-41-21 A/T).
(3)
Connect spar test harness to system tester and subsystem connector and bussing plug (Fig. 502, Detail C).
(4)
Close fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers (P6 panel).
(5)
Warm up system for 5 minutes.
(6)
With system tester function selector set to A/C TEST position, adjust capacitance trimmer so P2 fuel quantity indicator reads zero士10 kgs.
(7)
Adjust system tester SIMULATORS COMP to 42.6 pf. This is compensator added capacitance.
(8)
Adjust system tester SIMULATORS PROBE to ADDED CAPACITANCE value (Fig. 503, Table II) for applicable tank.
(9)
Set tester capacitance function switch to IND TEST A/C + PROBE SIM + COMP SIM position.
(10)
Fuel quantity indication shall be FULL VALUE (Fig. 503, Table II).
(11)
Open fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers (P6 panel).
(12)
Remove system tester and test harness. Reconnect connector to bussing plug.
(13)
Remove applicable fuel quantity indicator from P2 panel, disconnect connector, and connect P2 test harness (Fig. 502, Detail A).
(14)
Close fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers.
(15)
Warm up system for 5 minutes.
(16)
Set System tester function switch to A/C TEST UNSH and adjust capacitance trimmer (Fig. 501) to exact capacitance given in Fig. 503, Table I.
(17)
Open fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers (P6 panel).
(18)
Disconnect test harness and reconnect indicator.
(19)
Close fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers.
(20)
Ensure P2 fuel quantity indicator zero reading is within the following tolerances: Tanks 1 & 2 0 士50 kgs Center Tank 0 士75 kgs
