(a)
Place new coupling nut over ferrule on line A.
(b)
Place new retaining ring over ferrule to retain nut on Line A.
CAUTION: DISTORTING THE RING SHAPE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND MAY RESULT IN LEAKS AT THE FITTING.
(c)
Lubricate new O-ring with petrolatum and install O-ring on line B.
(d)
Line up A and B and firmly hand-tighten coupling nut.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE ANY TOOLS TO TIGHTEN FUEL LINE FITTINGS. DAMAGE TO FITTING COMPONENTS OR LOOSENING OF ADJACENT FITTINGS MAY OCCUR.
(e)
Lockwire nut to ferrule.
(2)
Install flexible half coupling if applicable (Fig. 403).
(a)
Place coupling nut over ferrule on line.
(b)
Place new retaining ring over ferrule to retain nut on line.
CAUTION: DISTORTING THE RING SHAPE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND MAY RESULT IN LEAKS AT THE FITTING.
(c)
Lubricate new O-ring with petrolatum and place over ferrule.
(d)
Place second new retaining ring over ferrule.
CAUTION: DISTORTING THE RING SHAPE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND MAY RESULT IN LEAKS AT THE FITTING.
(e)
Insert line into fitting and hand-tighten coupling nut.
(3)
Install flexible full coupling if applicable (Fig. 404).
(a)
Place coupling nut over ferrule on line A.
(b)
Place coupling over ferrule on line B.
(c)
Place one new retaining ring over each ferrule to retain nut and coupling on line ends.
CAUTION: DISTORTING THE RING SHAPE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND MAY RESULT IN LEAKS AT THE FITTING.
(d)
Lubricate new O-rings with petrolatum and place one O-ring over each ferrule.
(e)
Place the two tube ends together with a gap of 0.15 (+0.05) inch between the ferrules, so that the O-rings are sandwiched between the retainer rings and retainer halves. Snap the retainer halves together.
(f)
Hand-tighten coupling nut (See Fig. 404 for dimensional requirements). Lockwire coupling nut to coupling.

D. Tighten fuel line clamps to support brackets with bolts, washers, and nut and tighten support brackets to structure with bolts, washers, and nuts if brackets are not riveted.
6. Restore Airplane to Normal
A. Clean mounting surfaces for bonding jumpers with solvent.
B. Install bolt, washer and nut connecting bonding jumpers and clamps.
C. Check bonding resistance between fuel line and structure per 20-22-01\I/C. Bonding resistance should not exceed 0.010 ohm.
D. If tank entry was made, check that all tools and equipment are removed from tank and install access panels (AMM 28-11-11/401, or AMM 28-11-31/401) as applicable.
E. Service fuel tanks (AMM 12-11-0).
F. Check replaced fuel line and/or fuel line coupling for leaks (AMM 28-22-0/201).
