E. Check indicator zero values.
(1)
Open fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers on P6 panel.
(2)
Disconnect P2 test harness and reconnect indicator.
(3)
Close fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers.
(4)
Ensure P2 fuel quantity indicator zero reading is within following tolerances:
Tanks 1 or 2 0 +50 kgs
Center Tank 0 +75 kgs
(5)
Record P2 fuel quantity indicator zero reading.
(6)
Record P15 fueling quantity indicator zero reading.
(7)
Compare values recorded in steps (5) and (6). Readings of P15 indicator must agree with
reading of P2 indicator within following tolerances:
Tanks 1 or 2 士10 kgs
Center Tank士10 kgs
F. Restore airplane to normal
(1)
Close fueling station access door.
(2)
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-0 MP).

4. Fuel Quantity Indicating System - Adjustment
A. Prepare for Adjustment
(1)
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-0 MP).
(2)
Extend flaps and install leading edge flap locks (Ref 27-81-0 MP).
WARNING: REFER TO 27-81-0 MP FOR LOCK INSTALLATION PROCEDURE. FLAPS ARE FAST ACTING AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(3)
Defuel applicable tank(s) and drain sump fuel (Ref 28-23-0 MP).
(4)
Open fuel QTY and EP GRD FUELING circuit breakers on P6 panel.
(5)
Remove applicable P2 fuel quantity indicator, and disconnect connector.
B. Check Connector Pin Resistance and Compensator/Tank Unit Resistances and Capacitances.
NOTE: When checking pin resistances, it may be necessary to reverse test leads to get proper reading.
(1)
Connect test leads to EXT RES terminals (Fig. 502).
(2)
Set display selector switch to RES.
(3)
Set resistance function switch to EXT RES.
(4)
Using test leads, check resistance of pins of connector leading to tanks (Fig. 503, Table III).
(5)
Disconnect test leads from EXT RES terminals.
(6)
Connect P2 test harness between airplane wiring and AIRCRAFT TANK UNITS and INDICATORS section of system tester (Fig. 502).
(7)
Check resistances using function switch. Resistances shall be as indicated in Fig. 503, Table IV.
(8)
Set display selector switch to CAP.
(9)
Set function switch to A/C TEST - COMP.
(10)
Compensator capacitance should be 39.0 ±1.2 pf.
(11)
Set function switch to A/C TEST - UNSH.
(12)
Disconnect fuel quantity indicating system plug from applicable tank and compensator unit bussing plug (Fig. 501, Detail D).
(13)
Adjust applicable capacitance trimmer (Fig. 501, Detail C) so that digital display on system tester reads 16 pf.
(14)
Reconnect fuel quantity indicating system plug to applicable tank and compensator unit bussing plug (Fig. 501, Detail D).
(15)
Tank units capacitance should be:
Tank 1 or 2 474.2 ±16.0 pf
Center Tank 180.2 ±4.0 pf
(16)
If system is not within capacitance and resistance tolerances, perform tank unit and compensator adjustment/test (28-41-21 A/T).
