Set both flight director switches to ON (toggle up position).
NOTE: Set the No. 1 flight director switch to ON first and then set the No. 2 flight director switch to ON.

Simulate airplane in the air by opening the LANDING GEAR LIGHTS circuit breaker.
(4)
Perform the autothrottle engage interlock and disengage warning tests in the listed order in the following table. In each step, verify all test results called for in the three A/T Test Results columns.

PROCEDURE A/T TEST RESULTS
DISENG. LIGHTS ARM SWITCH ANNUN-CIATOR
(a) Select CRZ on PDC CDU and engage the PDC. On AFCS control panel engage the flight director in ALT HOLD. (b) Set the A/T ARM switch on AFCS control panel to ARM position. Verify that the switch holds and both FAST/SLOW needles are in view. (c) Deleted (d) Open No. 1 VG circuit breaker. Verify that the A/T disengage warning lights flash alternately. (e) Reset the warning lights. (f) Close the No. 1 VG circuit breaker, set the A/T ARM switch to ARM. (g) Open the AIR DATA CMPTR No. 2 115 VAC circuit breaker. (h) Close the AIR DATA CMPTR No. 2 circuit breaker (i) Open the AIR DATA CMPTR NO. 1 115 VAC circuit breaker. PROCEDURE A/T TEST RESULTS
DISENG. LIGHTS ARM SWITCH ANNUN-CIATOR
(j) Close the AIR DATA CMPTR NO. 1 circuit breaker and reset the warning lights. Press ALT HOLD on AFCS control panel. Set A/T ARM switch to ARM. (k) Verify that the flight director system is still in the ALT HOLD mode and then open the Autothrottle - AC circuit breaker. Check that the flight director remains in ALT HOLD mode. 1 (l) Close the Autothrottle - AC circuit breaker and reset the warning lights. Set A/T ARM switch to ARM. (m) Open the Autothrottle - DC circuit breaker. (n) Close the Autothrottle - DC circuit breaker. Set A/T arm switch to ARM. (o) Open both PDC circuit breakers. (p) Reset both PDC CB's and reload the PDC per step 3.N. (q) Press the Capt's A/T disengage button on the outboard side of the No. 1 thrust lever handle. (r) Push Capt's A/T warning light to reset the lights and then reset the A/T ARM switch to ARM. (s) Press the F/O's A/T disengage button on the outboard side of the No. 2 thrust lever handle. If the flight director drops out of ALT HOLD mode when the Autothrottle - AC circuit breaker is opened diode D30 on the backplane in the A/T computer may have low reverse bias resistance. If so, the diode should be replaced. The diode is on A/T connector pin LL40.

(t) Push the F/O's A/T warning light to reset the lights and then reset the A/T ARM switch to ARM. (u) Repeat step (q). (v) Repeat step (q) again and check that the lights reset. This is a test of only the A/T portion of the captain's and first officer's AFCS flight mode annunciator panels.
(b)
Verify that the same annunciation is displayed on both the captain's and first officer's flight mode annunciators in each step of the following tests.
(2)
Establish the following initial conditions:
(a)
Angle-of-airflow sensor: (no change from previous test)
(b)
Simulated airspeed (captain's): 0 knots
(c)
Simulated altitude (captain's): 10,000 feet
(d)
Radio altitude: 500 feet
(e)
EPR: 1.0 (no change from previous test)
(f)
Flap position: 0 degrees
(g)
LANDING GEAR - LIGHTS circuit breaker: OFF
