THRUST LEVER POSITION TRANSMITTERS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
EFFECTIVITY
AS N730AS, N740AS, N742AS SA ZS-SIA and on GJ B-2509 and B-2510
1. General
A. One thrust lever position transmitter (LVDT) is installed on each engine. The unit is installed on the left side of the engine between the main frame and the engine cross-shaft crank. Access to the LVDT is obtained by opening the left engine cowl panel, access to the fuel control unit (used to establish reference position) is obtained by opening the right engine cowl panel.
NOTE: This procedure requires two technicians.
This adjustment has to be accomplished whenever an engine is changed, a Fuel Control Unit (FCU) is replaced, a Throttle Lever LVDT is removed or replaced, and whenever the linkage between the FCU and the cross shaft is changed or adjusted.
B. Ensure that the autothrottle computer is powered for at least 5 minutes before beginning Position Transmitter Adjustment.

Thickness gage
(2)
Lockwire
B. Prepare to adjust position transmitter (Fig. 501).
(1)
Open both cowl panels on each engine (Ref 71-11-11).
(2)
Initialize PDC by inserting:
(a)
Outside air temperature (OAT)
(b)
Destination elevation (100 ft)
(c)
Zero fuel weight (30.0 thousand Kg. or 66.0 thousand pounds
(d)
Reserve fuel (5.5 thousand Kg. or 12.0 thousand pounds)
NOTE: Use Metric or English units as required. 1 Kg. = 2.205 pounds, 1 pound = 0.4536 Kg.
(3)
Establish the following initial conditions for A/T BITE test:
(a)
Simulated airspeed (Captain's): Less than 50 knots
(b)
Radio Altitude: 0 feet
(c)
EPR: 1.0
(d)
Flap position lever: 0 degrees (trailing edge flaps full up)
(e)
LANDING GEAR - LIGHTS circuit breaker: Closed
(f)
Landing gear handle: Down
(g)
Both thrust levers: Idle (full aft)
(h)
Both Flight Director Systems: Any Mode
(i)
Autothrottle System: Disengaged
(j)
Autothrottle warning lights: Out

(5)
Press the PDC CDU page key until page 4-(X) appears which is titled: A/T TEST 4-(X).
(6)
Engage the autothrottle by lifting the paddle switch to ARM.
(7)
Press the ENGAGE button on the PDC CDU once and wait for a Test A PASS or FAIL indication on the CRT.
(8)
Re-engage the autothrottle.
(9)
Press the ENGAGE button on the PDC CDU to initiate Test B of the Auto Throttle BITE test. Check that the thrust levers advance and stop at approximately a vertical position.
NOTE: The thrust levers may be considerably staggered at this point if the LVDT's have never been adjusted. Leave the autothrottle system in this configuration while making the LVDT adjustment.
C. Adjust Position Transmitter
NOTE: Perform the following adjustment for each engine.
(1)
Locate the Throttle Lever LVDT, on the left side of the engine and remove the lockwire on the LVDT rod end locknut.
(2)
Locate the part power trim stop on the Fuel Control Unit (FCU) on the right side of the engine and remove the lockwire that retains the part power trim stop in the "stowed" position (Fig. 501).
NOTE: Part power trip stop spacer must be positioned with S visible for proper adjustment. If C is visible, remove spacer and invert to S in view position. Restore spacer to desired position at completion of adjustment. 中国航空网 www.aero.cn 航空翻译 www.aviation.cn 本文链接地址:737 AMM 飞机维护手册 AUTO FLIGHT 自动飞行 2(100)
