Select STBY position on PDC CDU and enter the test pages by pressing the RCL key and then the minus (-) key.

Press the PDC CDU page key until A/T TEST page appears.

Verify that both A/T disengage warning lights illuminate steady when TEST page is selected on the PDC CDU. This indicates that the A/T computer has entered the BITE Test Mode.
(6)
Engage the autothrottle by lifting the paddle switch to ARM.
(7)
Press the ENGAGE button on the PDC the first time, wait for a test A PASS or FAIL indication on CRT. If a PASS is indicated, verify that A/T disengages. If a FAIL is indicated, disengage the A/T before proceeding.
NOTE: Before doing BITE Test B, manually move the thrust levers slightly away from the aft stops (about 0.20 inch) and then return them to the aft stops. The purpose of doing this is to avoid possible nuisance FAIL indications of BITE tests B and C.

Press the ENGAGE button again and wait for a test B PASS or FAIL indication on CRT.

Re-engage A/T for test C.
(10)
Press the ENGAGE button and wait for a Test C PASS or FAIL indication on CRT. Verify that thrust levers cycle forward and aft during Test C.

Press the ENGAGE button for tests D, E, 0 and 1 and wait for a PASS or FAIL indication on the CRT for each test.
(12)
Set radio altitude to 0 feet.
(13)
Press the ENGAGE button for tests 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
(14)
During test 6, verify that the autothrottle exercises the annunciator panel and the FAST/SLOW needles in the following sequence and then repeats this sequence a second time.

Verify that FAST/SLOW needles deflect to approximately one half scale FAST and SLOW during BITE test 6.

The autothrottle disengages (A/T arm switch drops).
(b)
The CRT indicates TESTING COMPLETE.
(16)
Terminate the A/T BITE test by paging away from TEST PAGE 4-(X).

Reset the A/T disengage lights.

B. Test Landing Gear Up/Down Logic
(1)
Verify that initial conditions established on step A.(2) are still in effect.
(2)
Page back to A/T TEST PAGE.
(3)
Verify that the A/T disengage warning lights illuminate steadily.
(4)
Select another page on PDC CDU. Extinguish the A/T disengage warning lights.
(5)
Verify that the A and B FLIGHT CONTROL switches on the P5 overhead panel are in the OFF position.
(6)
Set Landing Gear Position Lever to OFF position.
CAUTION: VERIFY THAT LANDING GEAR DOWN LOCKS ARE INSTALLED OR GEAR MAY COLLAPSE.
IF LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE DOWN, VERIFY THAT THE RED DOOR LOCK HANDLES ARE IN VIEW BELOW THE LOWER SURFACE OF THE WING.
(7)
Select A/T TEST PAGE on PDC CDU and verify that A/T warning lights do not illuminate.
(8)
Return Landing Gear Position Lever to DOWN position.
(9)
Select another page on PDC CDU.
C. Test Autothrottle Engage Interlock and Disengage Warning
(1)
Establish the following initial conditions:
(a)
Angle-of-airflow sensor: 2 degrees trailing edge up

Simulated airspeed (captain's): 200 knots
