Engage ELEV engage switch. Select FAIL on No. 1 air data computer and hold PRESS TO TEST switch for 10 seconds. Observe that ELEV engage switch disengages.
(p)
Pull and push either control column out of detent using a minimum of 10 pounds of force. Observe that pitch axis cannot be engaged.
(q)
Engage autopilot.
(r)
Extend flaps to 2 units and retract. Observe that ELEV engage switch does not disengage.
(s)
Move stabilizer trim switch on captain's control wheel to NOSE UP trim. Observe that the ELEV engage switch disengages.
(t)
Engage autopilot and repeat (s) for NOSE DOWN trim.
(u)
Repeat step (s) and (t) for first officer's switch.
(v)
Engage pitch axis. Move cruise trim cutout switch to CUTOUT. Observe that pitch axis disengages. Check that it is not possible to engage pitch axis. Return switch to NORMAL.
(w)
Position FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF and engage ELEV engage switch.
(x)
Move control column and observe that elevators respond to control wheel steering inputs.
(y)
Test flight control switches interlock. 1) Engage ELEV engage switch and position FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.

Observe ELEV engage switch disengages.
2) Return FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.

(3) Test VOR/LOC Mode Control
(a)
Engage AIL engage switch. Verify that NAV transfer switch is in RADIO position.
(b)
Place navigation mode select switch (on autopilot control panel) in VOR/LOC position.
(c)
Disengage AIL engage switch. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position.
(d)
Engage AIL engage switch and place mode select switch in VOR/LOC position.
(e)
Place NAV select switch in BOTH ON 2 position. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position and can be rotated back to VOR/LOC position.
(f)
Return NAV select switch to NORMAL position. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position.
(g)
Select an ILS frequency, place mode select switch in VOR/LOC position, and turn control wheel out of detent to stop. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position.
(h) On GJ B-2501 thru B-2503: 1) Place mode select switch in VOR/LOC position and actuate test switch on No. 1 NAV control panel. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position. 2) Select an ILS frequency on No. 2 NAV control panel. 3) Place mode select switch in VOR/LOC position and actuate ILS test switch on No. 2 NAV control panel. Observe that mode select switch does not return to
MAN position.
4) Place NAV select switch in BOTH ON 2 position.
5) Repeat step 1) using No. 2 NAV control panel.
(i) On GJ ALL EXCEPT B-2501 thru B-2503: 1) Select a VOR frequency, place NAV mode select switch in VOR/LOC position. Check that it is not possible to perform a VOR/ILS self-test using test switch on No. 1 VHF NAV control panel, but is possible using test switch on No. 2 VHF NAV control panel.
2) Place NAV select switch in BOTH ON 2 position. Check that it is not possible to perform a VOR/ILS self-test switch on No. 2 VHF NAV control panel, but is possible using test switch on No. 1 VHF NAV control panel.
(j)
Return NAV select switch to NORMAL.
(k)
On GJ B-2511 thru B-2520, plus airplanes incorporating SB 34-1184, place mode select switch in VOR/LOC position, and place captain's NAV transfer switch to OMEGA position. Observe that mode select switch returns to MAN position and cannot be rotated back to VOR/LOC position.
(l)
Return captain's NAV transfer switch to RADIO position.
(m)
Disengage autopilot.

Engage autopilot.

Select an ILS frequency and place NAV mode select switch in AUTO/APP position.

Place NAV mode select switch in AUTO/APP position and with a minimum of 6 pounds-feet of torque, turn either control wheel out of detent. Observe that NAV mode select switch returns to MAN position and cannot be rotated to AUTO/APP position.
