 - calculate the APU oil consumption.


 4. Fault Isolation
_______________
 A. If the APU oil consumption is more than 65 cm3 (3.96 in.3) per APU operating hour:
 - examine the APU externally for oil leaks on oil system components and oil lines (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-790-001).
 (1) If you find external oil leaks:

 - correct/replace as necessary.

 (2) If you do not find external oil leaks:

 - examine the APU for internal oil leakage (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-790-001).

 - remove, clean and install the TURBINE BEARING CAVITY VENT (Ref. AMM TASK 49-91-53-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 49-91-53-400-001).

_______ CAP. HOT OIL CAN SPILL PAST THE FILLER CAP WHEN THE OIL LEVEL IS ABOVE THE 'ADD' RANGE (MARKED ON THE SIGHT GLASS).
 WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES, INSULATED GLOVES AND OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHES.

 CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE CORRECT FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT
_______ AVAILABLE. THE APU FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO EXTINGUISH A FIRE IF THE ACCESS DOORS 315AL AND 316AR ARE OPEN/ REMOVED. KEEP OPERATION OF THE APU TO A MINIMUM WHEN THE ACCESS DOORS ARE OPEN/REMOVED.

 - oil contamination inside cooling-fan discharge duct


 - unwanted material on the surfaces of the air intake system components

 - the oil level in the oil reservoir is above the FULL mark on the oil sight glas

 - seals on the turbine bearing cavity vent and lubrication tubes

 - AUXILIARY POWER UNIT (4005KM)

 - Load-Compressor Buffer-air Bypass Valve
