Door is armed (green) – door slide is in the automatic mode.
Door is not armed (white) – door slide is in the manual mode, prevents EPAS from
powering the door open.
Slide mode signal is invalid/missing (blank) – slide mode is unknown.

Passenger Entry Door
See Door Mode Select Panel (next graphic).
Grab and pull inward to release the gust lock and move the door inward.
To open the door – rotate in the direction of the arrow.
To close the door – rotate in the opposite direction of the arrow.
Allows observation outside the airplane.
Indicates the current state of the door. The indication is either closed, latched and
locked; or open.
The bustle contains the slide/raft.

Door Mode Select Panel
Green band.
Door is disarmed if the mode select lever is at the end of the green band.
Moving the door operating handle to the OPEN position disables:
• power assist for door opening
• automatic slide/raft deployment.
Black and yellow band.
If the mode select lever is anywhere in the unsafe band, the door may be either
armed or disarmed.

Red band.
Door is armed if the mode select lever is at the end of the red band.
When the door operating handle is moved to the OPEN position:
• the door is powered open
• the slide/raft deploys.
Note: If the door is opened from the outside, the mode select lever mechanically
moves to the disarmed position.
Used to select the required mode; armed for flight, or disarmed for arrival.
CAUTION: Ensure the door is properly armed or disarmed by positioning
the door mode select lever at the end of the red or green band.
Symbolic indication of a normal disembarkation is illuminated when the door
mode select lever is in the green band.
CAUTION: Do not rely on the symbolic indication as a means of
determining if the door is disarmed. Ensure the door mode
select lever is at the end of the green band.
Used to protect the select lever against inadvertent movement.
Symbolic indication of emergency slide use is illuminated when the door mode
select lever is in the red band.
CAUTION: Do not rely on the symbolic indication as a means of
determining if the door is armed. Ensure the door mode
selector is at the end of the red band.

Flight Deck Door
The deadbolt will retract and engage using a key on the cabin side and/or by knob
on the flight deck side. Access from the cabin using the key is inhibited when the
deadbolt is locked from the flight deck. The knob clearly indicates the status of the
lock; unlocked, locked by key from the cabin, or locked from the flight deck.
The deadbolt is placarded, "CAUTION FOR GROUND USE ONLY".
Allows viewing of persons in the immediate area outside the flight deck door.

Allows the flight crew to manually trigger the decompression latch which opens
the decompression panel to aid in egress should the door become jammed.
Flight Deck Access Keypad
Push -
• enter the predefined 3 to 8 digit emergency access code by pressing the
numeric sequence followed by the ENT key. Entry of the correct
emergency access code produces a warning level alert to the flight crew
and illuminates the amber light on the keypad.
