4) If thermostatic expansion valve (21) has been removed, perform the following operations
a) Remove the blanking cap and coat the 0-ring and the threads of the valve with sealant (TB 09-905).
b) Hold the valve and screw inlet union (28). Mark with a red paint line.
c) Perform operation 3) h).
5) Remove the blanking caps, position evaporator (5), secure the drain hose and the air hose then insert the four pins (9) into inspection door 246 (10).
6) Install washers (8), lockwashers (7) and nuts (6).
7) Connect thermostat (30).
8) Remove the blanking caps from the HP and LP hoses, inspect the 0-ring seals for condition, replace if necessary.
9) Coat the 0-ring seals and the threads with sealant (TB 09-905).
10) Connect the HP and LP hoses to evaporator (5).
11) Make a red paint line on the unions.
12) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
13) Position inspection door 245 (1) and inspection door 247 (3) assembly and install all the screws.
14) Install A65 emergency locator transmitter - refer to 25-61-01.
15) Charge with refrigerant - refer to 12-15-01.
16) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
17) Remove the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.
18) Install baggage compartment bottom door 242, the towing bar and the protection net.
19) Close the baggage compartment door.
20) Perform an operational test of the vapor cycle cooling system - refer to 21-55-00, page 501.
3. ADJUSTMENT / TEST - S86 THERMOSTAT (Figure 202)
A. Tools and consumable materials
None
NOTE : The thermostats installed on the evaporators are adjusted by the supplier. If the thermostat is replaced, it is necessary to adjust it before installation.
B. Adjustment of S86 thermostat
1) If thermostat (30) is supplied with its support, remove both screws and discard the support.
2) Move cam (31) of thermostat (30) counterclockwise so as to obtain a 30° angle between cam mark (32) and fixed mark (33).
