B. Replacement of the brushes
1) Remove the condenser fan - refer to Paragraph 2.
2) Mark and extract the wires from P150 connector.
3) Cut off and discard the tie-wraps.
4) Clear grommet (8) from its housing.
5) Immobilize the impeller and remove nut (7) and washer (6).
6) Remove impeller (5) using the extractor.
7) Cut off the lockwire and remove motor attaching bolts (4) and washers (3).
8) Remove motor (1) from casing (2) with the wiring.
9) Remove caps (10), carefully extract then discard the brushes.
NOTE 1 : Under the action of the springs, the brushes must go out without help. Should the springs be inefficient, extract the brushes gently.
NOTE 2 : Even if one brush only is defective, replace both brushes.
10) Protect grommet (9), the wiring and the brush housings. Clean the non-electrical parts with cleaning agent (TB 11-001) or (TB 11-003) and Scotch Brite pads. Dry with purified compressed air.
11) Clean the electrical parts and the brush housings with cleaning agent (TB 11-915).
12) Dry with purified compressed air and clean, lintfree cloths.
13) Carefully position the new brushes in their housing.
14) Install caps (10).

15) Insert the wires into P150 connector as marked during removal.
16) Supply the motor with a voltage between 6 and 12 VDC and check the motor for correct operation.
17) Mark and extract the wires from P150 connector.
18) Insert motor (1) and the wiring into casing (2), then route the wires through casing (2).
19) Secure the motor to casing (2) with bolts (4) and washers (3) and lockwire.
20) Insert the wires into P150 connector, as marked during removal, and reinstall grommet (8).
21) Install impeller (5), washer (6) and new nut (7). Torque - refer to 20-00-01.
22) Install new tie-wraps.
23) Run in the brushes.
WARNING : PRIOR TO ENERGIZING MOTOR (1), STRAP IT ONTO A MOUNT AND INSTALL A
PROTECTION GRID AROUND THE FAN TO PROTECT THE PERSONNEL.
a) Supply motor (1) with a voltage between 6 and 12 VDC.
b) Run in the brushes for approximately 12 hours so that 90 % or more of the end of the brushes
contacts the collector.
24) Install the condenser fan - refer to Paragraph 2.
2. REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - B61 CONDENSER FAN (Figures 202 and 203)

B. Removal of the condenser fan
1) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.
