(a) Blue indicator light comes on.
(b) Air flow at air outlets cools down.
(a) The evaporator fan operates at a higher
speed and the flow of cool air increases.
(a) When the throttle is advanced beyond 95% approximately, the blue indicator light goes off and L40 compressor stops.
(a) Blue indicator light comes on.
(b) L40 compressor runs.
(a) Blue indicator light goes off.
(b) Air flow at air outlets reduces.

2. PERFORMANCE TEST (Tables 501 and 502)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Manifold gauge set
- Digital thermometer
B. Procedure
1) Remove baggage compartment bottom door 242.
2) Connect manifold gauge to manifold assy.
3) Start engine.
4) On "AIR CONDITIONING" control panel, set switches to "AIR COND." and "HI-FAN".
5) Allow the system to operate for about 10 minutes.
6) Record high and low pressures on manifold gauge set.
NOTE : If B60 evaporator fan speed is reduced, high pressure will reduce.
7) Measure and record the temperature of discharge air at evaporator outlet and cabin distribution duct.
8) Measure and record the temperature and relative humidity of cabin air at the inlet of the evaporator.
9) Measure and record the temperature of ambient air at the inlet of the condenser.
10) Shut down engine.
11) On Table 501, determine the discharge temperature of the evaporator and compare it with the measured value :
a) If the measured value does not exceed the theoretical value by 10 %, system operation is satisfactory.
b) If the measured value is out-of-tolerance, trouble-shoot the system - refer to the diagnoses charts, Table 502.
12) Remove testing equipment.
13) Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
14) Install baggage compartment bottom door 242.

NOTE : The black range on each gauge scale indicates a range based on the assumption that the air conditioning system is in good order. Gauge reading will vary greatly depending on outside and cabin temperature and humidity conditions at the time of testing.
