NOTE : Remove any water traces from hose charging fittings with a lint-free clean cloth.
4 Open HP and LP valve to carry out a static charging of the system. When the flow noise is no longer audible, system pressure and ambient pressure are equal.
5 Close HP and LP valves.
6 Locate the leak using the electronic leak detector.
7 Repair the leak.
8 Recharge the system - refer to 12-15-01.
2 Disconnect the manifold gauge set from the service valves.
10 Make sure all the tools and materials are removed and the work area is clean and free from debris.
11 Install baggage compartment bottom door 242.
2) For a leak check on a system charged with refrigerant, perform the following operations
a) Using an electronic leak detector, locate the leak by first checking the most accessible components.
NOTE : If the leak is so important that no refrigerant is left in the system, the detector will not indicate any anomalies.
b) Repair the leak.
c) Charge the system with refrigerant - refer to 12-15-01.

I 2. REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - L40 COMPRESSOR (Figures 201 and 201A)
A. Tools and consumable materials
- Stainless steel lockwire dia. 0.032 in (0.8 mm)
- Oil (TB 05-923)
- Refrigerant (TB 05-922)
- Blanking caps and plugs
B. Removal of L40 compressor
1) Make sure that the main switch-breaker is open.
2) Install the warning sign prohibiting main switch-breaker operation.

MAINTENANCE WORK IN PROGRESS
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM
MAGNETO SELECTOR AND THAT "MAIN SWITCH" IS OFF.
WARNING : PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION, ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE, EXHAUST PIPE AND MANIFOLDS ARE COLD. IF NOT, TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID SEVERE BURNS.
3) Remove the engine cowlings - refer to 71-10-01.
4) Drain the refrigerant - refer to 12-15-02.
5) Disconnect compressor (5) electrical power supply.
6) Disconnect the LP and HP hoses from the compressor and blank off. TB 21 aircraft - refer to Figure 201A
7) Remove and discard nut (13).
8) Remove washer (12), tie-wrap (15), screw (16) and shouldered bushing (17). All
9) Unlock and loosen the nut of idler pulley (11).
10) Remove and discard cotter pin (9) ; remove nut (8), bolt (6) and shim washers (7). NOTE : Mark the quantity and position of shim washers (7).
