At thermostatic expansion valve outlet, the refrigerant expands to low pressure and flows through the evaporator.
The B60 evaporator fan draws the humid and warm cabin air through the evaporator and blows it cool and dry in
the cabin distribution duct equipped with "WEMAC" air outlets (two for the rear bench, two for the front seats).
The low pressure liquid vaporizes as it picks up heat and returns to the L40 compressor as low pressure gas.
The dried cabin air condenses on the evaporator cold fins and water droplets are collected and drained overboard.
The process is repeated as long as the system is ON. TB 20 and TB 21 aircraft
The vapor cycle cooling system includes an automatic load shedding feature, via the K29 relay, at max power / landing gear extended condition.
The shedding feature, cut-out of the electrical supply to the L40 compressor electromagnetic clutch and B61 condenser fan, is automatically achieved by means of the existing "landing gear extended and locked" S183 microswitch and an additional S200 microswitch on the throttle in the pedestal.
TB 200 aircraft
The vapor cycle cooling system includes an automatic load shedding feature, via the K29 relay, at max power / wing flaps not retracted condition.
The shedding feature, cut-out of the electrical supply to the L40 compressor electromagnetic clutch and B61 condenser fan, is automatically achieved by means of the "wing flaps not retracted" S41 microswitch and the S200 microswitch on the throttle in the pedestal.
