The APCH WARN annunciator is on the first officer’s P3 panel. This indicates the system monitor in the HUD computer detects a problem on an approach when below 500 feet. You may need to look at the HGS TEST MENU items if the APCH WARN annunciator comes on during an approach.

(a)
If the FAULT light on the HUD control panel is on, and a fault code is displayed on the HCP STBY display line, write down the fault code information and refer to the corrective action for that code.
(b)
If the FAULT light on the HUD control panel does not show, then there was an intermittent fault, and continue below.
E. Fault Isolation Procedure
(1) Push the TEST switch on the HUD control panel to turn on the test mode.
NOTE: The test mode is on when the LED on the TEST switch is on.
(a)
Make sure the HGS TEST MENU shows on the HUD combiner display.
(b)
Move the cursor to HGS CAPABILITY on the HGS TEST MENU. NOTE: Use the DIM-and BRT+ keys on the HUD control panel to move the cursor.
(c)
Push the ENTER key on the HUD control panel to select HGS CAPABILITY.
