Connect the TDR time domain reflectometer, COM-5187test set at pins 71 and C71 of the applicable connector at the LRRA receiver/transmitter (WDM 34-33-11, WDM 34-33-21).

Do an electrical check of the coaxial cable and the antenna.
NOTE: The TDR test set has instructions which tell how to do the check of the cable and antenna.

Disconnect the TDR test settime domain reflectometer, COM-5187.

Re-install the LRRA receiver/transceiver. To install it, do this task: Low Range Radio Altimeter (LRRA) Receiver/Transmitter (R/T) Installation, AMM TASK 34-33-21-400-801.

If you find a problem with the coaxial cable, then do these steps: 1) Replace the applicable coaxial cable (WDM 34-31-11). 2) Do

A. General
(1)
You do the Head Up Display (HUD) BITE test at the HUD control panel (HCP). The HUD control panel is on the aft P8 panel.
(a)
When you push the TEST switch on the HUD control panel, you turn on the test mode and the LED light on the TEST switch comes on. When you push the TEST switch again, you turn off the test mode and the LED light on the TEST switch goes off.
(b)
When you turn the test mode on, you start a HUD BITE check.
(c)
The HUD BITE does a test for 3 to 4 seconds. During the BITE the FAULT light on the HUD control panel is on and the MODE display line on the HUD control panel shows TEST. When the BITE is complete, the FAULT light goes off and you see symbols on the HUD combiner display, and TEST on the MODE display goes off.
(d)
If the HUD BITE finds a fault, the FAULT light stays on. The HUD control panel STBY display line shows the fault code. If there is more than one faults, the fault codes show in two second intervals.
