CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE COVERS ARE IN GOOD WORKING
_______ CONDITION WITH NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY FRAYING AROUND THE COVER OPENINGS. FRAYED FIBERS FROM THE COVER COMBINED WITH SUBSTANCES SUCH AS DIRT, GREASE AND FLUIDS CAN CAUSE OBSTRUCTION IN THE PROBE.

Remove the pitot-static probe covers.

Remove the covers from the vertical stabilizer pitot tubes.

Remove the "PITOT PROBES COVERED" tag from the left control wheel in the flight deck.

Remove the covers from these components:
(a)
The temperature probe
(b)
The angle of attack sensor
(c)
The ice detector

WARNING: FAILURE TO REMOVE BARRICADE TAPE AND VINYL ADHESIVE TAPE FROM
_______ THE STATIC PORTS BEFORE FLIGHT MAY CAUSE LARGE ERRORS IN AIRSPEED-SENSING AND ALTITUDE-SENSING SIGNALS, WHICH MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF SAFE FLIGHT.
CAUTION:_______REMOVE ALL BARRICADE TAPE AND VINYL ADHESIVE TAPE. ENGINES SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED WITH THE COVERINGS IN PLACE BECAUSE THE COVERINGS CAN COME OFF AND DAMAGE THE ENGINES.
(5) Remove all barricade tape and vinyl adhesive tape from the static ports.
(a) Inspect each static port and if necessary use naphtha or equivalent to remove all tape residue, dirt and other contaminants around the port.

(7) S 962-019Inspect the drain plug on the quick-opening drain valve assembly for damage. Replace the drain plug if necessary (AMM 34-11-01/501).
(8) S 282-020Do a check of the portable fire extinguishers:
