R 4. Fault Isolation

R A. If the test gives the maintenance message BSV(OP), J14(WRONG):
R - Verify the nameplate of the engine:
R (1) If the nameplate is for a SAC engine:
R - verify that a SAC ID plug is installed
R NOTE : The ID plug can be checked on the MCDU screen. Access
____ R reporting functions, then select the LRU Idenfication screen.
R Line 4 of the LRU Identification screen will display: R - "EGT MON" or "SAC CONFIG" for a SAC ID plug R - "DAC CONFIG" for a DAC ID plug
R (a) Replace the J14 Identification Connector (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-90-R 000-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-90-400-002) or Do a Re-programming R of the Identification Connector (Push-pull Design only) (Ref. AMM R TASK 73-21-90-860-001).
R (2) If the nameplate is for a DAC engine:
R (a) Do a borescope inspection of the combustion chamber (Ref. AMM R TASK 72-41-00-290-001) and the high pressure turbine nozzle R assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 72-51-00-290-004).
R (b) Disconnect the cables HJ7 and HJ8 from the ECU and do a check of R the cable resistance between:
R . pins 6 and 7 (26 to 36 ohms)
R 1_ If the resistance value are specified limits:
R - Replace the BSV (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-70-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 73-11-70-400-001)
R 2_ If the resistance value are out of specified limits:
R - Disconnect the cables HJ7 and HJ8 from the HMU and do a
R check of the HMU resistance between:
R . pins 6 and 7 (26 to 36 ohms)
R a_ If the resistance value are in specified limits:
R - replace harness HJ7 (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-000-040)
R (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-400-040) and/or harness HJ8 (Ref.
R AMM TASK 73-21-50-000-041) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-400-R 041)
R b_ If the resistance value are out of specified limits:
R - Replace HMU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-10-000-001) (Ref. AMM
R TASK 73-21-10-400-001)
R (3) if the fault continues, replace the ECU (4000KS) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-R 21-60-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-60-400-001).
