 - repair the above defective wiring.

 (2) If the wiring is correct:


 - disconnect the cable J8 from the ECU (4000KS) and do a check of the ECU cable resistance between: . pins 27 and 28 (17 to 23 Ohms).
 (a) If the resistance values are in the specified limits:
 - replace the ECU (4000KS) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-60-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-60-400-001).

 (b) If the resistance values are out of the specified limits:
 - disconnect the cable J8 from the HMU and do a resistance check of the HMU between: . pins 27 and 28 (17 to 23 Ohms).
 1 If the resistance values are in the specified limits:
_
 - replace the defective harness J8 (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-400-041).
 2 If the resistance values are out of the specified limits:
_
 - replace the HMU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-10-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-10-400-002).

R - Verify the nameplate of the engine:

R (1) If the nameplate is for a SAC engine:
R - verify that a SAC ID plug is installed

R NOTE : The ID plug can be checked on the MCDU screen. Access

____ R reporting functions, then select the LRU Idenfication screen.
R Line 4 of the LRU Identification screen will display: R - "EGT MON" or "SAC CONFIG" for a SAC ID plug R - "DAC CONFIG" for a DAC ID plug
