R  (7) If the NLG torque link plays are correct, do the adjustment of the
R  nose wheel "zero" position:
R  (a) with the NOSE WHEEL ALIGNMENT TOOL (JT2000AIRBUS) as reference if
R  the tool is available
R  - Do a check of the NWS "zero" position (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-
R  220-001).
R  If the nose wheels offset as shown on the tool display is out
R  tolerance (more than plus or minus 0.5 degree), do the
R  adjustment of the NWS "zero" position. (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-
R  820-003) and do the step (c).
R  NOTE : There are possible causes of undemanded steering during____
R  taxi other a mechanical offset of the nose wheels.
R  Thus if the NWS angle is correct as shown on the tool
R  display, then it will be necessary to do the tawiway test
R  to get an accurate rudder trim figure.
R  (b) With the rudder trim figure as reference if the LASER ALIGNMENT
R  TOOL is not available or if the nose wheels offset as shown on
R  the tool display is within tolerance:
R  - Do the taxi check procedure to get an accurate rudder trim
R  figure.
R  1_  Align the aircraft on the centerline.
R  2_  Make sure that the engines operate at the same power level.
R  3_  Release the parking brake.
R  4_  Let the aircraft roll with the rudder pedals or the N/WS
R  handwheels along the centerline.
R  When the aircraft is aligned, release the rudder pedals and
R  the N/WS handwheels then continue the taxi without input to
R  make an estimate of the deviation.
R  NOTE : The speed must be between 10 and 15 kts.____
R  5_  Align the aircraft again on the centerline with the rudder
R  pedals or the N/WS handwheels.
R  6_  Give a rudder trim input opposite the aircraft deviation.
R  NOTE : Give the rudder trim inputs 1 degree by 1 degree, then____
R  0.5 degree by 0.5 degree to get a fine adjustment.
R  7_  Do again the procedure and make an estimate of the new
R  deviation.
R  8_  Align the aircraft again on the centerline and do again this
R  procedure until the aircraft goes straight. Then record the
R  rudder trim value X1.

R  9_  Do the same procedure on the same taxiway in the opposite
R  direction.
R  Then record the trim value X2.
R  NOTE : The procedure is done in each direction to make sure____
R  that the effects of cross-winds and/or runway cambers
R  are not included.
R  10__  Calculate the average X of the two values X1 and X2 that you
R  measured:
R  X = (X1 + X2)/2
R  Examples:
R  X1 = +3.5 degree (L), X2 = +4.1 degree (L)
R  X = (+3.5 + 4.1)/2 = +3.8 degree (L)
R  X1 = +6 degree (L), X2 = -2 degree (R)
R  X = (+6 - 2)/2 = +2 degree (L)
