A. Check of the engine Fuel pump Discharge Pressure
(1) Remove plug (50) from PHP port on the fuel pump and discard O-ring (40).
(a) Remove plug (60) from the PBP port on the fuel pump and discard O-ring (70).
(2) Connect a 100 psi gage and line to PBP port.
(a) Connect a 1000 psi gage and line to PHP port.
(3) Dry motor the engine to 20 percent N2 minimum (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-001).
(a) Observe pressure indication on gages and make sure there is a minimum pressure increase of 225 psi (15.5 bar) between low pressure side (PBP) and high pressure side (PHP) of pump.

(b) If so, reinstall the removed parts.
(c) If not, replace the pump (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-000-003) and (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-400-003).
(4) Remove pressure gages and lines from PBP and PHP ports.
R (5) Apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No. CP2442) to a new O-R ring (70) and install it on the groove of the PBP plug (60).
(6) Install PBP plug (60) on the cover plate of the PBP port. TORQUE to between 90 and 100 lbf.in (1.01 and 1.13 m.daN) and wirelock with lockwire 0.032 in. 0.8 mm dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire
0.032 in. 0.8 mm dia. (Material No. CP8002).
R (7) Apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No. CP2442) to a new O-R ring (40) and install it on the groove of the PHP plug (50).
(8) Install PHP plug (50). TORQUE to between 45 and 55 lbf.in (0.50 and
0.62 m.daN) and wirelock with lockwire 0.032 in. 0.8 mm dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. 0.8 mm dia. (Material No. CP8002).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser doors: (Ref. TASK 78-36-00-410-040). FOR 1000EM1 451AL, 452AR FOR 1000EM2 461AL, 462AR
(3) Remove the warning notice(s).

Visual Inspection of the Fuel Filter Cartridge
1. Reason for the Job
__________________
You must do this visual inspection after each removal of the fuel filter element(cartridge) related to an ECAM warning "FUEL FILTER CLOG", or when you find an important contamination at the bottom of the fuel filter cover during any replacement of the fuel filter, whatever the reason. This inspection will help to find any possible contamination of the Aircraft and engine fuel supply systems.
