(3) CONFIGURATION 3 : MAIN FUEL PUMP REPAIRED (SELF ALIGNING NUT AND WASHER)
(a) Put a container under the engine to drain the residual fuel.
(b) Cut and remove lockwire from drain plug (70).
(c) Remove drain plug (70) and let the fuel drain.
(d) Remove and discard O-ring (80) from the drain plug (70).
(e) Remove the bolts (200), self aligning nuts (220) and washers (230), and washers (210).
1 Inspect bolts (200) for evidence of damages as threads
_ damaged, nicks or dents on threads, etc... In case of damages, discard the bolt.
2 Inspect self aligning nuts (220) for evidence of damages as
_ thread damaged, spherical face damaged, etc... In case of damages, discard the nut.
3 Inspect self aligning washers (230) for evidence of damages as
_ spherical face damaged, etc... In case of damages, discard the washer.
4 Inspect washers (210) for evidence of damages (nicks, fastness
_ condition, etc...). In case of damages, discard the washer.
(f) Remove the fuel filter cover (40).
R NOTE : When you remove the fuel filter cover, the fuel filter
____ R element remains attached to it.
(g) Remove and discard the O-ring (90) from the fuel filter cover (40).
(h) Do an inspection of the filter cover and the filter element for contamination. According to the filter element contaminants, you must do an inspection of the filter element (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-210-003).

(4) CONFIGURATION 4:
(a) Put a container under the fuel filter housing, to drain the remaining fuel.
(b) Cut and remove the lockwire from the drain plug (70).
(c) Remove the drain plug (70), and let the fuel drain.
(d) Remove and discard the O-ring (80) from the drain plug (70).
(e) Remove the bolt (350) and the washer (340) from the filter cover (40).
1_ Inspect bolt (350) for evidence of damages as thread damaged, nicks or dents on threads, etc... In case of damages, discard the bolt.

2 Inspect washer (340) for evidence of damages (nicks, fastness
_ condition, etc...). In case of damages, discard the washer.
3 Inspect the main fuel pump housing insert for evidence of
_ damages as insert pulled out, insert movement, thread insert damaged. In case of insert damaged, replace the main fuel pump or perform the approved repair (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-300-002).
NOTE : Only one insert is found, in the hole adjacent to the
____ nameplate, in the main fuel pump housing.
(f) Remove the nuts (320) and the flat washers (330) from the filter cover (40).
1 Inspect the nuts (320) for evidence of damages as thread
_ damaged, etc... In case of damages, discard the nuts.
2 Inspect the flat washers (330) for evidence of damages (nicks,
_ fastness condition, etc...). In case of damages, discard the flat washers (330).
(g) Remove the fuel filter cover (40).
R NOTE : When you remove the fuel filter cover, the fuel filter
____ R element remains attached to it.
(h) Remove and discard the O-ring (90) from the fuel filter cover (40).
