(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(1) CONFIGURATION 1 : ORIGINAL DESIGN (BOLTS + MAIN FUEL PUMP HOUSING INSERTS)

(a) Clean the fuel filter housing and cover (40) with dearomatized petroleum (Material No. CP5074). Make sure that the wave spring and retaining ring are correctly installed on the inner boss of the cover (40).

R (b) Install the new O-ring (10) and O-ring (30) in the related groove of the fuel filter (20) located at the both ends. Soak the new o-rings with engine fuel and lubricate slightly the new O-rings with vaseline (Material No. CP5070).

(c) Soak the new o-rings located at the both ends of the fuel filter
(20) with engine fuel and lubricate slightly the new O-rings with vaseline (Material No. CP5070).
NOTE : The O-rings are already installed, by the manufacturer, in
____ their groove, inside the new fuel filter element (20).

(d) Install the new O-ring (90), in the related groove of the fuel filter cover (40), soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No. CP5070).
(e) Gently install fuel filter element (20) into the filter cover (40).
(f) Visually inspect through the cartridge if the packing O-ring (30) has not escaped from its groove and check if the filter element does not move.
NOTE : Make sure that the inspection of the housing inserts,
____ washers and bolts has been carried out (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-300-002).
(g) Carefully place filter cover (40) and the filter element cartridge (20) into the gear housing filter. Adjust the cover to the filter housing.
CAUTION : DO NOT USE BOLTS TO HELP COVER FILTER ENGAGEMENT.
_______ DAMAGE ON INSERT WILL OCCUR. A WOOD OR PLASTIC HAMMER MAY HELP TO ENGAGE THE COVER IF NECESSARY.

NOTE : Adjust the tabs of the filter element cartridge (20) to
____ the ribs of the gear housing filter.

against the housing flange.
(h) Apply graphite grease (Material No. CP2101) on bolt threads, and install washers (50) and bolts (60).
(i) Ensure that the bolts engage freely by hand, as follow:
NOTE : The use of tools is not allowed.

1 Hold the bolt head between your fingers, and rotate each bolt
_ by at least two complete turns. If the insert is in good condition, it should not be possible to fully hand tighten the bolt. If the insert is not in good condition, perform the approved repair (Ref. TASK 73-11-10-300-002).
(j) Torque the bolts.
CAUTION : IF YOU DO NOT APPLY THE CORRECT TORQUE RANGE TO THE
_______ FUEL FILTER BOLTS. SEVERE EXTERNAL FUEL LEAKAGE WILL OCCUR.
